I truly don't understand why they couldn't have the vehicles spawn at the flag like the other BF games. They could actually do that and then turn the vehicle call-in system into a commander.

They needed a way for soldiers to traverse the massive maps (at release they were much larger) without putting too much stress on the engine/simulation/netcode/client, etc. They couldn't have enough transport vehicles all deployed at spawn without problems, combined with the forced spawn the game had prior to 4.0. This meant a large number of soldiers would be left without a way to get to the first objective without running for several minutes.
The intent would be to spread out the transport to stranded squad memebers and they would call those in vehicles to reach the objective. Of course, none of this happened. Instead people just found a way to the nearest building and called in the tank (because FUN). Of course, DICE thinks this is good gameplay for Conquest because it produces cute meme clips and "only in Battlefield" moments.

Call in system needs to go, so do the flying fortresses aka condor and super hind.

They do this in RUSH. When you cap a zone, and new targets progress, you get new vehicles in the zone you capped
And for being on topic. By removing the Call In, you eliminate vehicles that we many tons from sitting on the roof and not falling through the roof.
Of course, this has been happening since day one so WAI

@Padding_Ur_Stats Exactly why I like Rush the most, it’s the closest this game gets to a Battlefield game. Less gadget and specialist abuse and vehicle selection balanced per map and per objective. Even losing vehicles from one point to the next so keeping that tank or helo alive becomes especially important.
Agree on the topic the call in system fixes a problem that shouldn’t even be a problem, just change the maps so people don’t feel like they are playing Arma
