@SCUBASTEVE120 I do not understand how previous iterations of BF (or COD, for that matter), could have dozens of excellent maps, and DICE struggles with 6 over 18 months for BF2042. Something is fundamentally wrong with DICE's staffing/budget/expertise.

@Lancelot_du_Lac They knew the game was a failure even before launch.
The maps were bad, the specialists were hated by the community, most standard BF-features were missing etc etc.
I don't think they ever believed in 'rescuing' the game, they only used as little resources as possible and most of it was spent on finishing the game, fail at fixing the existing maps and then create as little new content as possible.
BF 2042 is one big scam from Dice/EA.

BF 2042 is one big scam from Dice/EA.Agreed with the majority of that. I have to imagine if the game held more of a player base we would have had more content by now. But they stretched everything super thin across the seasons.
If we were getting 3-4 maps per season (like we used to with content packs with Premium) I'd bet by now we'd have some full infantry/cqc/urban maps. But because of the limited resources they make a single jack of all trades-master of none map per season. (And obviously spending some amount of the already limited resources redoing the mediocre-at-best launch maps)
