@ChugKendallI I ended up purchasing it from Best Buy. I wanted the SteelBook case. From my understanding Beta access is open to everyone. BestBuy.com does have on its website the following: "Early access to game launch". NOTE: That was only in the digital version. So, we should receive the access code, but I am guessing. Also, Best Buy now has the disc version of the game available.
@KOT-RottenDeslok Yes, the beta is open to all, but the word was that preordering it got you into the beta a week early (extra play time). I tried to enter the code I received on EA's site, and through Micro$oft, and looked all over Gamestop's website, but nothing worked. Called two different Gamestops, and their associates don't have a clue, either. It's really making me irritated.
- 5 years ago@ChugKendall I would really like to get beta access a week early. I may have to contact EA support directly. I completely understand your frustration. Also, I don't understand this staggered of the packages. Best Buy now has the disc version available for Windows and consoles, but it is only the basic version; I would have purchased it if it was available at the time. I will let you know if I find out anything.
- 5 years ago@KOT-RottenDeslok The disc version isn’t really a disc version, since I think all Battlefields that have released within the last couple of years, mainly bf:V have been digital codes, meaning for those of us who preordered the game on either Best Buy, or GameStop, all we will get is a blank empty case, with a download code on the inside…. Though I just want to say, I am interested in the steel book version of the case as well, so I preordered this game from Best Buy as well. I will be waiting until the pre beta beta is almost here to ask anyone about that though, over at EA or the retailer.

@ChugKendall I'm only guessing but I would assume the code isn't needed until the early access beta actually starts and if the closed alpha hasn't started yet it may be a while yet, battlefield V had it's beta 1 month before launch and then the games launch was put back a month. So they may be doing it 1 or 2 months before release again.
I would watch out for any new info at the upcoming ea play event or on their website afterwards.
Steam has a betas code section on a game when you right click the game in library and consoles would probably use their shops redeem codes sections but I assume they won't work until it's actually available to download and play the early access beta, then it'll probably be downloadable in the shop section.
So i wouldn't worry too much about it until you get to the early beta date.
