- @ElliotLH Thank you! I hope I get picked.

Need to ask this for a second. If you preorder the Gold copy when does it go live? What's the date and how many days early?
@ChugKendall I'm only guessing but I would assume the code isn't needed until the early access beta actually starts and if the closed alpha hasn't started yet it may be a while yet, battlefield V had it's beta 1 month before launch and then the games launch was put back a month. So they may be doing it 1 or 2 months before release again.
I would watch out for any new info at the upcoming ea play event or on their website afterwards.
Steam has a betas code section on a game when you right click the game in library and consoles would probably use their shops redeem codes sections but I assume they won't work until it's actually available to download and play the early access beta, then it'll probably be downloadable in the shop section.
So i wouldn't worry too much about it until you get to the early beta date.
- @GrizzGolf Agreed! Good questions.
- @KOT-RottenDeslok The disc version isn’t really a disc version, since I think all Battlefields that have released within the last couple of years, mainly bf:V have been digital codes, meaning for those of us who preordered the game on either Best Buy, or GameStop, all we will get is a blank empty case, with a download code on the inside…. Though I just want to say, I am interested in the steel book version of the case as well, so I preordered this game from Best Buy as well. I will be waiting until the pre beta beta is almost here to ask anyone about that though, over at EA or the retailer.
- ElliotLH5 years agoHero+@Dabrry0523 Possibly for PC, been a decade since I've played on one so no idea, but the console disc version is an actual physical disc.
@Dabrry0523 Best Buy is listing options for both "Digital and Physical" versions of the game. It includes disc versions for the following platforms: Windows, PS 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X. Below is a link to Best Buy and the Battlefield 2042 Windows (PC) physical disc version:

The following is list of all physical disc versions for all supported platforms from Best Buy:
Look under "specifications" and under "Software Format" is notes physical. Best Buy also sells the digital version all supported platforms as well. The best thing is whichever option you choose, you the free Battlefield 2042 SteelBook case! Below is picture of the Scanavo - Battlefield 2042 steelbook:
- @KOT-RottenDeslok I got same answer at my local Gamestop, after my kids bought the ultimate pack. But clerks weren't 100% sure....frustrating.

@GreyHunter687@KOT-RottenDeslok The Open Beta is completely free and open to anyone that wants to join in.
The only requirements are the system requirements found here (and you will probably have to have an Origin / EA account):
https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/open-betaIf you are gaming on a console, please disregard the above link.
Once the Beta pre-load goes live on October 5th, you can download it to be ready to jump in once it goes live for you.
Now, since you @GreyHunter687 have already purchased Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition, that will give you Early Access to the Beta starting on October 6th. So, the Open Beta for you and/or your kids will be the 6th - 10th.
I hope that helps.
