Round-length - Conquest
Yo boys and grillz... Since we are getting this huuuuuge maps and monster-armies pitted against each other in 128-player mayhem... Do you believe the roundlenght should be extended to 45-60 minutes ...
Hopefully rounds are ~20mins still. Being able to play a couple maps in an hour is nice, and most people's time is limited so they can only play an hour or less per day.
I’d vote that matches be made longer, mainly because the maps are much larger.
But, I’d also vote that whatever you do and earn in a match stays with you, regardless of how much of the match you played. Not this you lose everything if you quit early. So for those with less time, they could still jump in and earn progression without having to stick it out for 45-60min.
While almost anything is possible at this point, since Breakthrough has been specifically mentioned along with Conquest in the blurbs, I think the game length will stay the same. I'm fully prepared to be wrong about that though for sure.
@Boba_Brett711I think your suggestion is the way to go.
I think DICE and the community need to start looking at more of a drop in-drop out mentality similar to large scale games like Planetside 2.
In Planetside 2, you drop into the fight, and you might have to leave long before the continent is won. So you just play, have fun, and whatever progress you make stays with you.
I do agree with OP that matches should likely be longer...in the 45-60 minute range. But you shouldn't worry about having to stay the whole match. If you have to leave early, then whatever progress you earn stays with you.
@ArchAngeL-PCX Persistent progression (even through disconnects) has been in place for some time, much to my chagrin in some cases... but I do prefer a good long battle, preferably with closely matched teams where quick, effective tactical decisions will have corresponding strategic implications on the overall map / game. Since we have a good history of games / servers with larger ticket counts, I think it is safe to assume that is returning. I am much more interested in the team balancing tools / calculations that are coming... (hopefully)
