@ATFGunr It wouldn't be rushed. The current game came out in Nov 2021, and if the next game comes out in the usual October/November 2025 that would mean they had 4 years of development which is more than any other Battlefield game in the history of the franchise. All previous games had 2-3 year gap, some even 1 year like BF3 coming 1 year and 7 months after BC2

@UP_LordPlumber That’s assuming they had started on it, which from everything I read has only really started in the last 1.5 years. They are still moving resources into place. They haven’t even fully decided to have a campaign (I hope but it’s not a deal breaker) or only MM. How many times have they changed lead now? I’m coming to the conclusion that gaming success as an industry is going to be its own downfall. Too big, too focussed on maximizing profit, too corporate. I think it’ll continue on this course for a while, but the big blockbusters time in the sun is ultimately done. It’ll rise from its ashes but be a different business model. If it’s 3 years to a great game, and they’re maybe halfway into that now, early 26 is realistic eh?

2026 is way too long without any content to me but I could see it happening.
- RanzigeRidder22 years agoLegend@ATFGunr I agree, the signs on the wall are not very positive. So far the only official news we had that concerns the next BF title are leadership changes and closing down a studio, and now we get another studio on board.
On that new studio, I've played a bit of Star Wars: Squadrons, but eventually dropped that game because it had a too steep learning curve. If they will be involved in any of the aerial vehicle gameplay, the days of everybody and their grandma being able to control a chopper are over!
Another thing that caught my eye, they now refer to Stadium as a revamped map rather than a new map. - Man_iLoveFishing2 years agoSeasoned Ace
