Seriously, whos idea is it?

I donk know the examp name of the maps,

We call them songdo and glasshour map.

On breakthrough mode, i was so shocked by the idea of putting an objective on the top of a building where players can reach only on elevators or by jumping from helis that i just let my controller go..

Seriously whos idea is it and who approved it??

Should i be thankful for having the unbreakable elevators??

Get rid of these kind of map for breakthrough mode or let us destroy the buildings..

  • This has been a pretty common discussion on here. I agree its complete garbage and makes 3 out of the 7 maps unplayable once you reach that capture point. Apparently DICE is considering removing spawn points from the top of skyscrapers and/or doing things to fix this. How they came up with it in the first place though, i have no idea.

It could be done with air superiority but for some reason players that grab helicopters always mind their own business 😄

  • In theory, it´s actually easily possible to cap those flags. Just take every chopper available and missile spam the * out of the defenders, so the rest of the attacking team can capture the point. But people being stupid as usual (pilots and infantry), this is just dreaming.

And moving the flag points doesn´t solve the problem. People will still sit on the skyscrapers and snipe from there or spam missiles.

    @Terminator000001

An easy way to do this is by having a variable amount of vehicles available throughout the match kind of like in BFV as soon as its a rooftop objective 5 helis become available instead of 1 or 2

@AerialDominance pretty sure this is already a thing with ground vehicles on some maps. I think its per capture point though. Hourglass goes from 4 ground vehicles (Bolte, Recon, Hover) to 6 when it goes to the 2nd breakthrough points i believe.

@Terminator000001 Indeed, it is possible but as you say, rare.

One thing that would help is to prevent vehicles being called in on the roof tops.

@BrokenCompile The defenders just call AA tanks to the roof so you can't get air superiority over that airspace at all.

@GOGUMANDU This actually come from BF4 Siege of Shanghai.  Capture point C is on the roof of a skyscraper, but in BF2042 Kaleidoscope there are some key differences.

In Shanghai there are only 4 Helos in the match ( 2 on each side).  1 transport and 1 attack.

In Kaleidoscope  there is many air vehicles, multiple transport. attack and I believe planes too.   This creates a very unbalanced match, even with the multiple towers in Kaleidoscope.

The "C"capture point in Siege of Shanghai had 6 elevators, 2 on each side of the capture point and 2 on the level above, that you couldn't get to from the level below.   With limited air and 6 ways to the top is made it balanced.  That and the elevators were spaced far enough apart that you couldn't defend them all the time.

Also the "C" capture point was larger than the points on Kaleidoscope.  I think if you were to take F1 and F2 together it would roughly be the size of the "C" capture point from Siege.

The Maps are just very unbalanced in design.

My team actually lost as defenders in Kaleidoscope the other day so it's not impossible but yes, it could be much much better. Team is definitely aware of feedback on the subject 😛
