slide spam

So from what i saw from leaked gameplay i have to say that i hated the slide spam every 1-2 seconds, this isn't cod u know, and slide in military is used once to slide and slow down behind cover after a full sprint, just see how many ppl complain about it under leaked footage

    @sonicklmt Didnt bf1 have a good sliding system? If you slide, you end up stopping at the end for a while before you can move. Or am I crazy?

    @Hezek1yah I don't see any reason why a person with a controller also can't slide?

    Also, I guess you can say that a mouse uses "less skill" vs the handicap that a controller gives? I don't see that as "less skill" the same way that playing basketball with an arm tied behind your back doesn't mean you're more "skillful"

    I have no idea what the commentator above me is talking about. I said get rid of the "sliding makes you impervious to bullets" altogether. Why would I want to engage in the same silly game breaking exploit that PC gamers do? And you can miss me with all of the "handicap" talk. A mouse simply requires less skill than a controller does. It doesn't take any skill to "aim" with a mouse. Its a crutch for those who can't aim with a controller.

    Also PC gaming has long had a reputation for exploiting games and ruining them with cheating. Not all PC gamers do this but enough do that it is a well known problem,

    @Hezek1yah My point is that console players also have the ability to crouch while running. Why you are stating that it is a PC-only strategy to use the (less than great, we can all agree on that) game mechanics is not accurate. Also, I'm not aware that sliding gives anyone i-frames, I've died plenty of times while sliding.

    I will fully admit that I am not great at using a controller for an FPS. I've been playing PC FPS games since the mid-late 90s and I have the muscle memory ingrained in how I play. On the random times, I play Halo or whatever with friends on a controller I don't do as well, but I also don't have the muscle memory for playing with that input device. A controller is inherently less accurate than a mouse and keyboard, although plenty of people prefer to play with a controller on their PC as well. I would like it if they added M&K to consoles to offer a balance of putting them together.

    Regarding cheating, at least in my 200-ish hours, I have yet to see a cheater in the game. That doesn't mean that they don't exist in 2042, and I've seen them more in the older titles (something which having persistent/community servers with active mods can greatly assist with), but still relatively few and far between.

    But we can't say that it is a PC-only issue either. While the newer consoles have not yet been 'hacked' it was prevalent on the OG Xbox, 360, and PS2/PS3/Wii/WiiU/Switch. I haven't played any multiplayer stuff on the PS4/PS5/consoles since then to know.

    And as with battlefield v when sliding the hit boxes are a complete mess!

    Why bring in a feature that wasn’t working correctly in your previous game.

    The slide cancels and bunny hopping are completely why I have zero desire to play infantry in this game. It feels like a knockoff cod/apex and I don't enjoy those games. Would much prefer a tactical lean, a cooldown on the slides so you can't slide over and over endlessly, and a cooldown on the bunny hopping so you can't string the hopping and sliding together. I want positioning and tactics to matter and with the current movement system these things do not matter at all. Infantry is completely uninteresting and feels like a generic twitch shooter. Which is what Dice was going for I guess. Highly disappointing. Indie titles like ww3 or insurgency show you can have fast gameplay while having a tactical feel to the game.
