Anyone know if the exp cap is fair? Will my kills track towards gear weapons n vehicles?
I just want all the 2042 stuff on Karman and sharing pensula. Whatever that bf3 map pack was, the GOAT expansion pack except for maybe the lord of destruction.
Anyways we have so many maps not being used so can I play those now?
Why not start it up and see for yourself? ....or are you just being facetious given that you're active on these forums and reading the same things we all are? I'll give you the befit of the doubt anyhow......
No, currently only XP applies in Portal and it's capped. You can still unlock the vehicle, weapons, etc. items linked to rank progression but not Mastery and such. Justin Wiebe from Ripple Effect has said that they are definitely not done with tweaking progression in Portal so this could mean Mastery progression could return. They are fully aware of the frustration over the issue.
No new legacy maps have been added a this point but that's not to say they won't be in the future. Portal was meant to be expanded upon. They did add 7 news maps (to Portal) in addition to the existing 6 when they released the latest update. ....BF2042 maps so now there is a total of 13 IIRC which can be used with the various assets from 1942, BF3, BC2 & 2042.
...so yeah, you can play those now as of about a week ago.
Yeah, as far as "fair", I think it's safe to say that most Portal players would say absolutely not.
Apparently it's capped by the minute if I remember correctly. Progression on that front is at a snail's pace. Solo and coop are capped as well but do allow Mastery progression along with XP which is presently the only way I can unlock other new weaps, accs, vehicles and additions, etc.
The only thing you can gain in Portal custom is XP. ....but you're right that Official Portal games allow you to progress in other ways too.
I haven't really paid much attention to a lot of it since most of my time is spent with BF3, 1942 and some with BC2 assets which are all unlocked. .....it's just 2042 that is locked and to be quite frank, I really haven't had an itch to create many Experiences using those assets. ....having too much fun with the legacy stuff.
