Hey guys, Just wondered if theres any plans for the balancing of the shotgun? So far i've played with the one I have available to me (the pump action) and it just feels completely pointless. The effective range of it is around 5 meters it seems and the cross hair is a tiny 1cm dot on the screen. Admittedly the shotguns in both BF1 and BFV were my favourite guns in basically any FPS game ever (the Drilling is my all time favourite weapon) but the shotgun in BF2042 just feels completely useless right now. Perhaps a wider bullet spread and a bigger crosshair on screen. then a damage buff so that you can actually get a kill without being 5 meters from someone. Not too much, I understand some people hate shotguns but just give us something to work with please?

Given the range of engagements in this game, I think it would be a good thing if they shake of the age old video-game logic of shotguns being close proximity weapons and give them proper range.

Shotguns dont have any kind of use in this game since the maps are so huge and large open areas

@Bullrog1991 I think you would want a tighter spread (choke) instead of wider to improve range.Regardless, I have not used them much yet, but trust what you are saying.

I think they should actually make shotguns work like in real life instead of using old game logic of making them basically a melee weapons.

You and the rest of us haha. Flechette rounds in bf4 basically did that. The 870 was my most used weapon and I rocked that thing since the alpha. This 870 is ridiculous and I'm hearing the Saiga 12 is similarly disappointing. Lmgs and shotguns are always my go to but man is it rough sometimes lol

So what happened to the shotguns?

@AOD_moose004 Zeroing is done via scopes. most scopes have the ranger on the lines or dots, many RL snipers have that too. ((Primarily Russian ones))

@DeutschBagoWhat are the flechette rounds saying in this game , just unlocked them but don’t seem to be any different to buck shot , pritty sure the damage is meant to be increased with flechette , all accept that it’s the same stats as buckshot…

@SillyCyb I think the flechette is traditionally the one for hurting both your target and the ones behind him with penetration

Yeah , So the firepower stat should increase with flechette
why should it mean we get less rounds with no change to its firepower , I’m missing something

@SillyCyb If you hit one person the damage is the same. If you hit more people in a line the damage will be more

I agree I use tactic insertion with the specialist that has the sentry gun and a ranger dog, everything I have could be shooting at one enemy including my shotgun (mcs-880) ( with every reasonable combined attachments for one shot kills ) and that one enemy still turns around and kills me while my dog and sentry gets destroyed or self destruction, and at the end, my k/d ratio is probably 1/40 lol.
