I'm not sure Dice fully appreciate the depth of ill feeling towards 2042 in the community.
It's not just another, business as usual, bad launch of a battlefield game. I detect a sense where seeing that as business as usual is an idea that many have lost patience for.
The many missing core features, and the glacial pace of restoring them, don't give anyone faith that the next game will be any better.
How could it?
Taking two goes to get the scoreboard right does not give the impression of a competent studio, hurrying to meet its customers expectations.
We are told lessons have been learned.
But words are cheap and, sadly, Dices doesn't carry any weight anymore.
Lets see some action. Some urgency to meet the reasonable demands of your customers.
As opposed to....*waves at how fast things are happening now*...whatever this is.

They don't even seem to realize how deeply flawed 2042 is, and still haven't even apologized for releasing a garbage, half-baked, buggy as hell game.
DICE is as arrogant and disconnected as always, and honestly the whole "feedback loop" thing feels like something they want to do as little work on as possible.
"Minimum-viable-support" for their "minimum-viable-product". At least until EA can create some hot marketing trailers to get everyone excited for the next BF game, which will probably - again - show that the EA marketing team working on BF has a better grasp on what BF is and why fans have liked it than anyone at DICE appears to.

Far more so than with BFV.
I don't think dice realize that 2042 hasn't driven a lot of fans away to apathy, it's driven them to anger.
There's no excuse for 2042 being as woefully, and comprehensively, bad as it is. Not if a studio has learned from BFV.
And being told that lessons have been learned, while we wait for the scoreboard to get finished, or any word on whether the server browser is coming back, or any indication at all dice will let us play in groups bigger than four, doesn't really cut it.
If Dice want to sell another game, they need to fix 2042.
- @TAW_Rinko Yep. It's not just a disappointment, it's any remaining trust in DICE as a competent studio that understands/cares about the BF franchise and its fans being shattered.
Seriously, I get that it wouldn't be fun and convincing EA would be hard but like...they really need to double down on 2042 in a big way until it gets into a good state. Abandoning the game like they are - and I don't care what the CM's say, by all public appearances DICE has moved onto the next BF and is leaving a skeleton crew to deliver on their obligations for 2042 at the lowest cost possible - is going to set them up for failure with the next BF, no matter if it's actually good or not.
Nobody "trusts them, fam". Nobody will believe they're "way ahead of schedule". And sales will be even more "disappointing" than they were for 2042. And DICE will deserve it.
