First of all, you can't turn off Cross-play only for PC.
If enabled, it's enabled that all 3 platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X and PC) will play together. If disabled, you will ONLY play with people on the same platform.
There is no split for Cross-play to enable/disable only one platform.
Btw, i'll play on PS5 and with some friends on PS4 too. I will for sure enable it for a while to play with friends from other platforms and see how it goes with the PC peeps 🙂

- LordVader6664 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@Its_Travis_199 on the Xbox side at least there’s going to be a separate game for the oldest generations and that’ll automatically limit you to older generations (and only 64 player)

@LordVader666 yes i know, Old-gen play together and New-gen play together + PC.
Just mentioned New-gen as you said you will play Xbox Series X.
So PS4 and Xbox One play if Cross-play is enabled. If not, then only PS4 and only Xbox One.
PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (all 3) together if Cross-play is enabled. If not, then it's only PS5, only Xbox Series X/S and onyl PC.
Old-gen and New-gen are not able to play together!
Only if you for example play the Xbox One version of the game on your Xbox Series X, then you can play with friends that play directly on their Xbox One. It's just cause you use the same game version.

@Its_Travis_199 Just to be clear PS5 ed can't play with the PS4 ed players unless you got the same version of the game.

@1Hairy-Gorilla exactly.
Cause it's not about the console itself, it's about the game version.
If you buy the Gold or Ultimate edition of Battlefield 2042, it includes the PS4 and PS5 version. (same for Xbox)
So if you play PS5 but installed and start up the PS4 version, you can play with your PS4 buddies.
If you play the PS5 version it's not possible to play together with Old-gen cause they only have the PS4 version.

I'll be leaving it on, but on PC so it's not exactly a risky proposition vs "normal" queues, and the very few people i know that stick to console only can actually join the rest of us.
