Spawn Camping with choppers

Come on guys,

put a out of combat area over the bases just rapping players buy flying the heli's over there base in a * move and is getting worse.

And a spawn timer for players so you don't die just as you spawn might be a good idea too.

@EA_Atic What about putting 10 AI bots armed with AA in the spawns as NPCs and not part of the player count?

@Chief2GFDRight. “Getting away” is the key phrase. You're making my point for me. You’re getting away and not carelessly loitering over the enemy spawn killing infantry, vehicles and aircraft as they spawn in. It’s much more of a deterrent than we we currently have in 2042 which is no deterrent at all.

This. There is no need to completely waste them immediately if they run off and get out of the spawn. The whole point is to "keep them from spawn camping" Now if they get shot at by the AI and hang around, then it should take them out. This is a PvP instance after all.

    Reema66,

I was just in a game where this happened to the team I was on and we couldn't leave the base to capture any objectives. The choppers were flying around the base and killing every player as they spawned. EA please do something about this issue. Put automatic anti AA guns or rocket launches at every base.

It sure sux but also not a new issue, not sure how you would stop it. BF3 added Automated AA if you got close did not really work. You could make air space like a no fly zone close to enemy uncap, or build a hill in fornt of the un caps but then all maps uncaps will have similar layout.

Have a shield around the un caps buts nots more like 2142 tech then anything

Hitscan AA placements at spawn targeting anything and shredding it quickly the second it enters the spawn area.

Make "out-of-map" warnings that apply to players and ground vehicles apply to aircraft as well, even just for the spawn areas. Spawn areas should have a shorter "get out before you blow up" timer to boot.

Player protection from aircraft attacks while in the spawn area.

Why does it need to have a "lore justification" via tech? What's the "lore justification" for out-of-bounds areas in game to begin with?

I mean, is the dev team this devoid of imagination? I don't mean this as an insult, but a frank, blunt, honest question. Because this seems like a very solvable problem unless there are simply technical reasons this is impossible.

Which basically destroys the game and forces players to leave the server.

Something seriously needs to be done to address the issue.

  • The only way to stop something like this is to have starting zones neutral

    1. Enemy team cannot enter neutral zone.
    2. While in neutral zone, you cannot be damaged. Prevents spawn camping
    3. While in neutral zone, you cannot be healed.  Prevents retreating, healing, then coming out full health
    4. While in neutral zone,You cannot fire a weapon.  Prevents camping and firing unlimited ammo on nearby objectives
    5. All rules apply to air above zone.

The only negative of this design (I can think of) is a full map cap.  The other team can pin a group.  Of course a full team exiting with armor and air would be an epic battle!

@Padding_Ur_StatsThere's just no way to stop it! What are these, ideas on how to stop it? There aren't any! There's a team of AAA developers and apparently there's just nothing to do to address a problem that's existed in multiplayer games for decades and had a variety of different solutions implemented.

Would love to hear what the team has tried and why it apparently didn't work. It's not a major problem IMO, but surely it's something that's eminently solvable, no?

  • @edgecrusherO0Well, my suggestion may not stop it, but they cannot improve their stats my way either. Nobody is just going to hover there all game hoping for an easy kill. People wont leave the zone with air or armor parked there. It becomes a draw. Not the best solution, but one that would discourage Stat Mongers maybe
