Spawn points

Objective spawn points are absolutely broken at the moment.

There's absolutely no chance to spawn on an objective to defend it, because there will be 5 enemies looking at you, because the game decided to spawn you out in the open with 0 cover.

I don't know what Dice was thinking or if any of the people responsible for this actually played their own game. This needs to be addressed asap. It's no fun to spawn in and die instantly because the game put you in front of 5 enemies without any cover to take.

What's that? Another glaring issue that should have been fixed ages ago?

I am shocked! Shocked! I say!

Not only are the cap point spawns easily spawn camped. The spawn menu UI continues to be atrocious. Why i can't i zoom in so i can select specific spawn point when there's several UI elements overlapping?!

Why is none of this crap addressed yet?

@EA_BlueberryIt’s true in both conquest and breakthrough, although the spawns in breakthrough are worse. It’s a delicate balance of course, you need to spawn closer to the points to try and hold them, and the enemy could be in there, and that’s risk players have to take if willing to jump back into the action. The game could / should be able to not spawn you directly in front of a tank however, as it has to be multiple times on different maps. Asking your players to tell you where all the bad spawns are really implies y’all don’t play the game, and if you don’t, how the heck could you ever contribute to the fixes?
  • @EA_Blueberry

other maps and objectives with poor cover and poor spawn points

    128 player Conquest

    - Discarded B1, A1, E1. Again we are often spawned

in predictable locations in wide in open ground either on the flag in clear view of multiple enemies or in the middle of a road in clear view of multiple enemies. That’s with the objective being both uncontested and contested. Part of the problem is the fact that  there’s little good cover inside the capture zones but great cover all around the capote zone. It’s literally like shooting fish in a barrel for defenders of these objectives.

    - Kaleidoscope D1, E1, E2, B1 and B2. Open fields all around the objective. Spawn points spawn us in clear view of multiple enemies.

    - Hourglass A2 and A3(Sports Stadium) defending players are spawned in the “play field” of the stadium and are easily farmed by vehicles or enemy infantry that sit and wait to camp these predictable spawn points.

Note that there is ZERO overhead cover on most of the spawn points and objectives mentioned above so infantry are always easy prey for helicopters.

@EA_Blueberry almost all the maps have objectives where you spawn to the side of the objective, instead of behind it towards your own spawn.

Renewal is a perfect example, if you own D1 or D2 (C128) as RU, you spawn to the sides of the buildings. D1 is the worst as you spawn in an open field where the enemy who may be capping that point just mow you down instantly.

Orbital - For Breakthrough, US side for B1 spawns to the north of the facility (instead of behind it - East) right where enemy is attacking the point. They can camp the hill above you and just take you out instantly as you spawn.

D1 for Orbital, you spawn in the open field to the North instead of behind cover to the east or west, depending on who owns it.

Breakaway - At the oil rig, you spawn off to the side of the rig with no cover instead of in front or behind it depending on what faction you are on.

Kaleidoscope - E1 and E2 - you spawn in the wide open to the side of the point, especially E2, when you spawn to the North. Easy pickins.

Hourglass - basically every spawn as the entire map has zero cover.
  • Thanks for this Adamonic....

"D1 for Orbital, you spawn in the open field to the North instead of behind cover to the east or west, depending on who owns it."

After reading the request for more specific information I was going to chime in with this little gem that has literally been in the game since BEFORE it was released.

This spawn point out in the middle of a field with no cover for at least 80 metres was present in the first open beta test.....and it's still there.

Perhaps the devs should be asking their QA testers?

You know them......the guys they should be paying to play the game and provide this sort of information rather than relying on their consumers who paid for the game.

Breakthough spawns are pretty bad because you don't have any option of spawning somewhere else. Like when you are defending and respawn only to have to try to run across open ground to reach the stupidly small amount of cover that actually surrounds the objective point. More cover BEHIND and on the points is needed in Breakthrough to allow defenders to traverse to the point.

Conquest spawns are less restrictive but there are still some pretty bad ones in play.

    - D1 , Orbital, Conquest 128 (good luck finding a 128 player match) is a prime example.

    Kap.

  • Honestly instead of having AI learn and manage censorship(badly) like in bfv, this is where it should shine, AI learning weighting player duration vs even kd situations from both parties will quickly have the AI dynamically adding in good spawn points based on enemy position.
