You talk to the wrong person to presume i havnt played previous BF games , wich were also chaos ... I played ALL SINGLE BF that ever existed even consoles exclusive BF2 modern combat and BFBC 1 . But i dislike World war games and BF4 was a buggy mess for more than a year was unplayable and got barely playable in august the next year . Thats said , classes system as never ever promoted teamplay ever .. I could stand half an hour screaming i NEED amo to a support class in BF4 to never get amo . I could stand with an ennemy stolen tank in need of repair right next to an engineer to only watch him shoot rockets at infantry instead of tanks and never trying to repair me ...
I can count on the finger of 1 hands the handfull of times i actually got usefull blueberries in my BF games ... The only team work oriented games i ever got was with SCRIM private servers where the entire team were clanmates or friends .. And with my squads .. thats all
The old classe system was trash and it was time to put it where it belong . In the garbage

I partly agree. Public servers have always been terrible regarding teamplay classes or not. But I have always managed to find a favorite clan server or been an admin on one with a mixed collection of players who kept joining and played BF as it should.
I have also played every BF game except BF2142, BC1 and Hardline

Clan servers can now be replaced by discord and community games/servers/experiences. And they are both free.
team play with friends is as possible now as ever.
team play with randoms was never very good, but is worse now because of how the matchmaking works and no ingame voice chat. Until that is fixed we need to start our game sessions on a discord server. The official one got all you need, if you really want. Or start a new server with a friend or two.
If all of us in these forums practiced the team play we talk about, maybe more will follow and the overall experience will improve. Lead by example, as they say.
