On this particular point a " squad " isnt compleated if the squad goals is to provide counter sniping on a large scale the entire squad would need to be snipers .. you wont be of much help for your squad to have an SMG up hill with your counter snipe and soflam squad while now .. Since weapons are unlocked you can be a support and provide amo while also having a range weapons either scouts or snipe or you can provide health and still have a range weapons .. And if the situation requires it you can still be a healer or a amo provider or a C5 or a rocket man and have the SMG you need to follow your squad in Tight CQC senarios .. so you remain usefull all the way .. Now peoples can use and choose the weapons , the primary gadjet AKA specialist and the secondary gadjet they need to compleate the squad the best way possible ... Its as simple as that
BF2042 is more granular and for teamplay its a good thing ... now we lack command structure , VOIP , Platoon and players lobby up to 16 players to start a match and also clan support in game

- 4 years ago@Albake21z He is obviously xp‘ ing himself with alt accounts, many forums have that little trick, for example the WoW Forums where you can thumbs up yourself with every other Twink you have, in this EA Forum it seems you can do that too but faster with the same account.
I started to ignore this stew guy becouse he is full of BS.
For him everything is better, he never had any issues with the game performance wise despite the fact that ppl with better rigs also get problems.
The Game itself is flawless, the design decision is perfect and all other opinions are just ignorant.
I mean the numbers speaks for itself, in BF3 and BF4 are more servers currently online than in 2042 Portal.
You almost start every match in AoW with bots, you can’t start any game at all if you turn off crossplay or you have to wait REALLY long.
So yeah… game is basicaly dead until dice start to realease new content in S1.
Furthermore I suggest you do not post here anymore to push this silly, trollish Thread becouse all you will hear and see are copium induced irrationalities from a guy who clearly trolls and spout nonsensical stuff who have no basis. - 4 years ago

I will always take better performances and always would love more stability but there is difference between complaining about things that could be fixed with checking out of the ram is at correct speed if the PC has the proper specs for the game etc.. Enabling DX12 in folders disabling WeaponDOF etc..
You can blame the devs all you want but the game is not super bad in terms of performances on a wide ariety of harware wich are at least 6 cores to 8 cores cpus .. the 4 cores struglle with this game and ive never said otherwise .. Also 6 cores cpu will also struggle if the RAM of the system is not at least at 3200mhz CL14 ideally , CL16 is good and CL18 still acceptable ..

So saying the game run insanely poorly would not be fair , its not running amasing wich for me would be a solid 140+ FPS but its not that far off from it
Its also not a SUB 50 FPS or Sub 42 FPS as so many peoples trolling reddit pretend it to be .. If they get these FPS either their hardware is really bad or there is something wrong with their configuration - Man_iLoveFishing4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Stew360 The game is not optimized properly.
Even I had struggles with my 3090 and i9, stutters and framedrops when things happened around. Everything was up to date and all other games run well. Well there is some issue with the game indeed that look like stutter but are server side rubberbanding wich is indeed very anoying ..
Also have you try to Disable WeaponDOF in the settings folders with Notepad++
These were the most impactfull to me to reduce stutter , improove performances and reduce input lag
Dx12Enabled 1 change from 0 to 1
GstRender.WeaponDOF 0 Change from 1 to 0
sensitivitysheme 0.0000000 change from 1.00000 to 0.0000 for all 3
By DX crash you mean DX crashes not DX12 crashes right ?Because by default the game run on DX11 but run poorly for me i had to go into the folder setting and change it trough Notepad++ in order to get DX12 enable and its way smoother for me at least and so far everyones i know with RTX and even some with GTX cards

Here in this digital foundry video they explain the issue with rubberbanding that feel like frametime issue . But there is definitly some frame time issues here and there but it look less problematic to me at least since i have change the game to DX12

What the author don't get is that It's not only that the old class system was promoting teamplaying, it's the way it was doing it. It was making people being a teamplayer without them doing it on purpose, or without even realizing.
Yes people were using the class based on what themself wanted to do at the moment, BUT it was impacting in a good way people around them :
- People wanting to use Assault, were defined as Medic. The consequences, they were leaving medic crate all over behind them or were reviving people around them.
- In BF2042 medic crate are more rare than diamond. Reviving happen times to times not because someone took the tool, it just happen they had the specialist
- People wanting to use LMG, they were support. Consequences you could find a trail of ammo behind them.
- In 2042 thanks god we can grab ammo from dead people, because Ammo crate are not as rare as medic one, but still are.
- People wanting to repair/destroy vehicle, the engineer. Consequence, you own them a lot everytime they saved your as* when you were a Medic or Support or Sniper facing a tank. And yes in previous BF (mostly BC2) i got many time repaired by a random engineer. Being the driver or gunner with who i was sharing the vehicle, or a dude passing by. The same way when i lost my vehicle i was repairing the ones around me if i still was engineer.
- Don't think i ever saw a single dude repairing anything in 2042. However it's RPG party everybody no matter the class has one. Consequence, no one have ammo or medic crate or any other tool that we would really need.
- People wanting to be Sniper well, were sniper. And their spawn balise were really usefull for the entire team allowing other class to join the party quickly.
- No comment actually radio is the only tool i see used among the RPG
So yes, the new system completly lost any teamplaying, it's solo party no more cohesion. Also a detail, in previous BF as class being showcased by appearance you could go to a teammate and ask for what you needed. Now it's just ridiculous skins to try to make specialist look fancy, i don't know they thought it was a COD or BattleRoyal ?

Now, YES the new system has good idea, allowing to go deeper in your class customisation. As you said for exemple the Recon should not be limited to long range weapons. But some limits need to be placed. So that some types of weapon still has to be dedicated to some class. The same way some tool still has to be dedicated to some class. For exemple it doesnt make sense for someone to be running around with a long range weapon, and a * RPG on the back.
It could work this way, quick exemple :
RECON
- Main : Assault / Marksman / Sniper
- Secondary : All
- Gadget : Soflam / C5 / Radio
- Grenade : Frag / Sensor / EMI
- Speciality : All available, but you still has the appearance of your class, tunned to match the speciality
SUPPORT
- Main : Assault / LMG
- Secondary : All
- Gadget : Ammo crate / Bullet proof / RPG
- Grenade : Frag / Fog / Fire
- Speciality : All available, but you still has the appearance of your class, tunned to match the speciality
MEDIC
- Main : Assault / SMG
- Secondary : All
- Gadget : Medic crate / Medic Gun / Revive kit for all squad (no more a specialist)
- Grenade : Frag / Fog / Fire
- Speciality : All available, but you still has the appearance of your class, tunned to match the speciality
ENGINEER
- Main : Assault / Utility
- Secondary : All
- Gadget : Repair / RPG / AA FXM / Mine
- Grenade : Frag / EMI / Fire
- Speciality : All available, but you still has the appearance of your class, tunned to match the speciality

I will comment only on what've I've quoted as I've already expressed my opinion about the new specialist system on another page of this thread.
Why ppl started to realize with the release of BF2042 that you cannot know what class is the enemy using judging by the appearance?!
This trend started a long ago with BF5 where you can customize your solider as you wish - you can also opt for a elite (legendary) skin which can be used by all classes. So in BF5 you can practically have the same elite skin applied to multiple teammates, no matter what classes are they using, at the same time - e.g. 20 x Seamus as assaults, medics, supports, recons in the same team.
Why no one noticed that before?!

@VME23And you couldnt know wthat gadjets BF4 classes were using either could you ? Did you knew that support was having a mortar or c5 or xm25 or whatever he wanted ? Hell no you could not
In 2042 you are 100% sure of what primary gadjet the specialist have .. and for the second gadjet its irrevelant to know in advance ..
If you want i can give you the full list of all custumizable gadjets in BF4 and the 2 gadjet slots were custumizable so supports did not always had amo while Angel always 100% have amo Falk always 100% have healingAnd recons could have any of these equipped there was no way to know what ..
PLD C4 Explosive Motion Sensor RFB Radio Beacon T-UGS SOFLAM MAV M18 Claymore SUAVDS-3 etc..
How did you know wich one he had ? Yep you did not
While sundance you know exactly she has 3 type of grenade and the last gadjet is 1 pick among the normal variety even more predictable than bf4

I would be hypocrite to say that you're not correct in this matter.
In BF4 it was hard to distinguish what class you were fighting with and that's due to many reason.
It wasn't a showstopper because of the 3D spotting mechanism that was set in place.
Once DICE got rid of the 3D spotting mechanic with the release of BF5 - everyone started to complain about visibility - for me this wasn't a issue.
In BF2042 it's correct, I know who am I fighting with - against what specialist no matter what skin is he using - each specialist has different running, standing posture, even ADSing animation which can be distinguishable even from far distance.
And I remember that one dude wrote here on this thread that in BF2042 you don't know who's having an Ammo or Health crate equipped - well that's not correct, you can find who's carrying what in these two instances:
- when you're low on Ammo or low on HP
- when you're using the comm rose and ask for Ammo or HP
In both of these instances the specialists who carries an Ammo/Health crate will pop up on the minimap and the bubble over their heads will change into a Ammo icon or HP icon.
I understand that this is a fine detail which no one observed because a lot of ppl prematurely stopped playing the game and the content creators stopped making videos about BF2042 with tips & tricks. As a YT content creator you don't want to upset the vocal part of this community and that's the reason why everyone made a subtle statement via Twitter /.Reddit / Discord or YT video that it's with the community or against it.
In these days if you're enjoying BF2042 in its current buggy & unfinished state, with tons of missing legacy features - you're against the community and everyone will bash you for what you enjoy.

@VME23Well back in the beta i had proposed a solution to know exactly what to expect from team mates by having the bluedot replaced by icon representing gadjets so this way youll know their primary and secondary gadjets for sure for those really into that ..
But my problems i have with poeoples complaints is that i cannot find them legitimate and there is obviously a hidden agenda or huge ignorance or misconception about old system and new ones ..
BF4 wich as been used so much a some sort of gold standard for many ... In Bf4 as a exemple an engineer was no garantee he had RPG or Repair .. Even if he had those thing there was no garantee hell help you lol ..
Most complaints against the new system turn in circle with 2 points .
1 : Pretending the old classes system limit solo players .. no true never been true .. Solo players were legions in BF2 playing Assault and specops mostly or camping vehicles with engineers ..Switching kit on the ground to give themselves amo then switch back to their kit etc..
Recon highjacking air vehicles to crash them so they could camp on a high rise spot with a spawn becon etc..
2: Pretending the old classes system improove teamplay . this also has never been true .. All BF games have been different in terms of classes and none had better teamplay Its always been a per game thing and still the same in 2042 some games you get zombie blueberry some games you get amasing randoms teamplay ..
What is lacking in all BF modes bigger than 64 players is a command structure , organized like 16 players 4 squads of 4 part of a platoon with platoon leader voip broadcast where players opt in or out of the roles .. Bigger players lobby not limited to 4 but more like 16 .. Proximity Voip so you can teamplay with randoms and make new friends etc.. etc.. This is what is lacking the most to improove teamwork ... everyones anecdotes are irrevelant .. ive seen it all in all bf to be honest from really bad team to decent to really good and its always been the same - 4 years ago@VME23 Are we playing the same game ?
Every model shares the exact same animations, even with the portal soldiers.
The only difference is theyr skill like wingsuit, grapplinghook, shield, deployable cover/sentinel animation etc.
Every soldier has the same idle pose,
every soldier has the same ADS pose,
every soldier runs and sprint the same,
every soldier crouch the same,
every soldier prone the same,
every soldier has the same downing state, every soldier has the same revive animation, every soldier has the same knife holding,
I could go on but you get the point.
If dice wanted they could give Sundance the self injector animations from falck, it wouldnt clip or be buggy becouse it’s simply the same model. - 4 years ago

Well not really 100% but most BF games had the same animations bases for all
But BFV had some gruesome knife animations thats for sure and i would have prefered that to the buggy looking execution we are getting in 2042 .. but thats beside the point ..
Peoples who critics BF 2042 art direction or setting are comparing apples to oranges .. BFV was meant to be a gruesome somewhat gruesome and more darktone game even if it dosnt feel like that in 60% of the maps ..
But map that are super pre demolish to show a " theatre of wars " where you have fire and mostly broken citys etc.. Is not the same as trying to acomplish a 128 players combine arms semi futuristic battle game .. BF 2042 graphics folliage etc.. are way better than BFV .. but the thing is BFV was builded in a more " Scenery " type of things with iconic type of environement not BF2042 .. Still Obital , manifest and discarded even hoursglass and renewal are way better looking than BFV maps overall .. its just BFV has more scripted pre destroyed building etc.. that add to the scenery while BF2042 is more clean when its not destroyed by players
BF1 or BFV or BF1942 elitism is kinda silly to me .. I am bored to death of World war games .. since 2004 I played almost only that all my teen years with some quake and unreal tournament etc.. here and there with some CS even then we had some World war mods etc.. but worlds war have very little to offer in terms of interesting gameplay .. BF as a franchise departed a long time ago from the MilSim genre and followed a more casual approach to please a wider or a more casual audience - see BF1 sales no.
Fortunately or unfortunately this is the new 'core' community that DICE needs to please right now (new wave of BF players from BF1) because these 'casual' players will generate revenue during the course of the game's lifecycle.
Although, basic features like Squad VoIP or Proximity VoIP I'm pretty sure will be added later on.
On Europe region, I barely heard someone talking or giving orders via voice. We've learned to use the comm rose commands / ping system or even squad chat (on PC) to give or follow orders pretty well - here the language barrier may interfere with that.
I usually play solo or duo with my wife, and I had a ton of good moments where the team work / squad work thrived and carried the whole team to a win situation - in BF3, 4, 1, 5 & 2042 as well. If I'm joining a game with a premade squad from my local community where we have 66 active BF2042 players, we are using Discord to communicate anyway - so for us, the missing VoIP feature is not that important.

Well i made this thread well kinda remade because i did a similar one in the now closed beta forums .. Yet it fail to get any attention since poeoples prefer to create drama around the game and defame the devs work while imperfect had good intention and in some case good result like loadout and core specialist template .. Their goofy / corny looks beside few is really.not my cup of tea but i love the loadouts the way we have 1 gadjet slot with many options and the other tied to the specialist etc..
But well give it a read if you are interested but like i said gaining traction on real solution is nearly impossible here ..
