Specialists behind Battle Pass paywall?

Hi everyone! I don't care about cosmetics, so I am leaning towards buying the Standard Edition if I like the beta. But what confuses me is that it seems that only buying the Gold and/or Ultimate Edi...

    Hello @l-NwL-l-DK

    All new Specialists will be Free for all Players. Same goes for new Maps, Weapons, Vehicles when it comes to BF2042. 🙂

    Only Cosmetic Items (from Battle Pass) like skins for those Specialists will be for those who bought Battle Pass or own Battle Pass from Gold/Ultimate Edition of BF2042

They will be free, but my understanding is you can avoid the unlock grind by paying for the shortcut.  Depending on how much grinding is needed to unlock every specialist, will depend if you still think its 'pay to win' by the back door.  If its a few 10s of hours of game time for the average person to unlock them then thats one thing, if its hundreds, thats another.

    @ninjapenquinuk I'm really hoping the grind won't be intense - I recently gave up on Fallout76 entirely as the grind became too much and it made playing unfun.

      @ElliotLHi guess it depends how much the 'average' player, plays the game. I mean i probably only do an average 10-12 hrs gaming a week (a bit more if its a new game), due to work and family (unless they are out of the house on a weekend), but some 18 yr old uni kid could easily do 50 hours - though i'd have serious words with them to want to know why they are playing video games and not down the pub! So what would be a major grind for me, may just be a couple weeks casual gaming for someone else.

        @ninjapenquinuk Yeah I'd imagine that's a big factor and it's one of those things where as you get older you often have less free time. Same as you I'd be concerned if a uni kid was locking themselves away yo play 50 hours a week rather than socialising (drinking 😄). Guess we've got to option but to see what the grind will be like and take it from there.
