Specialists Eliminated Factions

I think a lot of people are missing the point as to why specialists are going to ruin this game.

I personally do not care if the characters I play have back stories and a bunch of random skins I can pick from.

My problem is that no matter which faction you are on, whether US or Russia, you must pick from the same specialists. Meaning there is no differentiating between the enemy team and your own team during battle.

From what I have seen there is no set colors or uniforms for either faction.

I can already imagine having to kill an enemy soldier that looks exactly like my squad mate or myself for that matter.

The only way to tell an enemy is because there is no UI dot and name above the soldier. (Hardcore goes out the window)

I have also heard that the enemies will be slightly darker. If this is true, what happens when the battle is in a less dim environment? Everyone will still look the same.

Another side effect of these choices is that there will be no faction specific weapons. Nor future added factions. Just new "Heroes".

Solution:

Create 10 new models, give them the same gadgets, create the same 2 sentences back story for each of them and force them to be in a specific faction.

Determine multiple colors that will be faction specific and work with them to create the skins all the children will buy.

Of course make the characters backgrounds something that aligns with current regions and alliances.

Like, I don't know.... Boris should obviously be in the Russian faction.

From my perspective EA made this decision to simply halve their work by eliminating faction specific elements. Therefore in the future any new items that are released will only need to be done once instead of twice for two different factions. Hence double the profit on those skins.

Instead of truly sticking to Battlefields identity they sold out to follow COD and Apex.

Thank you for listening.

  • @exXxtremeBoy Name 1 war where the man beside you did not look like the enemy?

Both faction are made up of global refugees. It is not a US v Russia war.

If uniforms have team colors then I see no issue with specialists. Although the $120 pre-order bundle comes with 'Midnight Ultimate Bundle'.

Apparently DICE missed the memo about Roze in CoD Cold War. I'm also concerned specialist will become pay to win with their unique abilities and gadgets. But pay to win is nothing new to battlefield I suppose.

Is that even a real task? Okay WW2. Take any military. German, USA, Japan. All had different uniforms.

Yes, global refugees. If you really want to throw the shallow story they put together in my face here we go.

First off they created this story as an excuse to have no factions.

It's a US, Russia proxy war. They have hired mercenaries essentially to fight their war for them. They provided them with vehicles, since it appears those are at least faction based. But not the weapons?

Global refugees/mercenaries would most likely fight for the side they believe to be correct. Politics and all.

Therefore I don't see a Russian fighting for US to capture oil in Alaska.

Besides, 64 people coming together to fight a war, they can coordinate squads and vehicle drops but can't decide on a uniform so they don't kill each other?

Even if you go paintballing on the weekends and make teams. You are given arm bands to at least be able to distinguish between your teammates and the opposite team.

Why wouldn't a group of 64 'global refugees' not be able to.

@exXxtremeBoy Are you talking about uniform or face?

Both sides getting troops from the same pool of resources the non-pat task force don't you think they would have similar gear and uniforms. Also if both sides are fighting shadow war neither side is going to issue standard uniforms.

We still getting customization of uniforms. Like @Oskool_007 team colours are likely.
  • Faction are irrevelant since BF3 and i am fine with it asymetrical balance is allways triicky and mostly lead to peoples only using the best side always to farm peoples win and KDR

  • That was one of my concerns as well. They still seem to be trying to copy COD to get players to come over (they won't).

One of the things that has become very COD-like is the movement. People running, bunny hopping and sliding with no penalty to stamina as far as I can tell, makes it feel very much like COD or even Fortnite. However don't worry they have already confirmed that such movement is part of the new game. If movement was a little more realistic (or at least temporary and the character needing a realistic rest) it would feel much better.
