I don't know why Dice Sweden has never bothered developing their voice chat system. It often feels like they don't care about communication and teamwork. Battlefield 3 never had any voice chat on PC and it was only after considerable pestering that Battlefield 4 onwards had squad chat but they've never bothered developing it beyond that. Would be nice if they get with the times and offer proper voice chat in 2042 but given their track record I am somewhat dubious.
It really seems like a no brainer at this point. If Battlefield really wanted to stay on the cutting edge of open world warfare style games and provide a communication/team focused game, this would be the way to do it. Really a shame this isn't on their radar. This would change the whole experience, but 100% for the better.
