Steam Count has climbed

So I guess that we are settling in to what was done with the April patch.  Im not going into the perpetual discussion of what got fixed, how long it has taken, what still needs to be fixed nor what got broken....

What I am looking at is when I checked Steam Count prior to the patch (I wish I had grabbed a screenshot but didnt) is that the average was 1000 players give or take.  Now it has risen again to just over 4000.  This is just an observation that you can take as you will.

  • The April patch did its job, which was to fix enough of the game that some players would try it again and hang around.

I'm glad that is what happened.

While this is broadly a 4x increase in the player count, its still far too low for an AAA game so close to release.

Hopefully subsequent patches will continue this trajectory.  Restoring the missing core features, while also doing the mundane work of bug catching and fixing.

  • @CascadiaSRL People are interested in seeing what has changed. My guess is that it will settle at around 2800 over the next month. They'll keep some people with the changes, but most (I'd say 80% of the gains) will put it back and wait for Season 1.
