Terrible spawn in logic along with horribly designed objectives.
Not to mention the fact that many objectives have limited number of spawn in locations so attackers can easily memorize the 1 to 2 spawn in locations and camp defenders as the defenders spawn in.
We need more spawn in locations, in locations where there’s COVER and CONCEALMENT. Hell there’s not one single bomb crater modeled into a single 2042 map. This is from the same company that made BF1 where bomb craters were everywhere on every maps and where you could create your own bomb crater/cover with a limpet mine.
We also need proper spawn in logic so that IF player X gets Insta killed spawning in at location A, THEN player Y spawns into another location at the same
objective if they spawn in within 10-15 seconds.
Also what be the hell is the deal with typing paragraphs these forums? The system automatically inserts the “return” or “enter” function in the middle of a sentence when I submit my post.
Good post and I 100% agree the spawns need a LOT of work.
I have experienced the whole spawn / dead fiasco much more in BF2042 than in previous BF's.
Hope DICE sort this asap as it is just another unnecessary frustration.

- 4 years ago@RayD_O1 i feel your pain. It's like playing russian roulette with 5 out 6 bullets in chamber. Most spawn get me killed instantly. Sometimes I can't even move.

Its definitely very very frustrating!
And also one of the (though many) reasons why players are leaving this game behind and moving on to something more rewarding.
Key aspects of game design and especially FPS game design is that players needs to feel they understand why they die when they die and they have a way to learn and improve on this going forward. Essentially recognizing that their opponent got the better of them due to more clever and/or skilled game play. But that there are ways for them to change tactics and get back on that same enemy next time around.
Dying just senselessly at spawn point is among the top scoring of being most frustrating for players and why they form a negative opinion about a FPS game. Market research results should be very familiar and known to the EA/DICE folks on this. Hence again why its not understandable why the game has come out with so many obvious "beginner errors" !

I just never understood why someone would put the spawn locations towards the enemy side of the map.
They should have a death category called spawn deaths.
