Flares should ONLY Stop Missiles that are already in the Air, not those that have yet to be fired.
that should be reserved for only the ECM.
ECM should Stop Lock ons before the missile is fired, and last a few seconds before going on cool down, if a missile is already fired and in transit and ECM is fired off, itl do nothing to the missile.
Flares should stop missiles that are already fired, they should not stop Lock ons from locking onto the vehicle. and they should be a One and done, meaning only 1 set of flares come out and stop active missiles.
that way theres a balance between the two and neither are OP compared to the other
Might want to keep up with how flares work these days. They’re always chaff and flare combos that have are spread out over time. Doubt you’ll see a competent Air Force that’s wants to keep their planes from being grounded that only runs one or the other.
I do not give a single Poop about what works or is or not used in the real world, i care about Game Balance.
and for that ECM and Flare shoudl have completely different use cases in game. END OF.
want realism and accuracy. best to go play some simulator like Arma.

It’s not balanced getting locked on from every direction and being unable to evade them because you decided to fly near an objective either.

Look at it from an infantry point of view and you'll see why.
If multiple players need to do the same thing to dispatch a target, that is not unbalanced, it's called teamwork.

That multiple can be +20. Means army of AA can run around. I think measures are given against every lockon that can be in game, means in worst case scenario. Just to be clear, if these measures would be nerfed, should aircrafts weapons get buff? Since if one can't even enter the field lets say at all? Just for a second, let's think about firepower vs a guy wants destroyer vehicular kill. At that point we would be in milsim.
- 3 years ago@CPT_GASLIGHT it absolutely is balanced, you Flew near a objective which is no doubt going to be hottly contested, drawing the Ire of the other team who will coordinate to bring you down.
always been like that, but of course in this game Heli Pilots have been catered too so badly, its upset the game balance.
Flares stopping any flares all while stopping new Lock ons from happening, all while have short cooldowns. now add on the new Stealth Helo with the ability to deny ANY lock ons, and use its flares to shut down any incoming missiles.
heres the idea, you want to stop from being Locked on "from every direction" ? then run the new ECM under this scenario, it will last you a few seconds so you can run away but it will do absolutely nothing if a Missile is already fired at you.
Heli pilots are honestly Chumps too scared that they have to actually play skillfully instead of being given free seal clubbing meals.- Man_iLoveFishing3 years agoSeasoned Ace@madinogi It's just cause locking happens waaay to frequently in 2042. If ECM would have been implanted, means ECM will keep helos off field, mostly means helos gonna camp same way like in bf3. That means people are gonna complain about helo not entering field and sniping from above with 30mm. + Liz missile will loose its purpose. This is how i see. I play birdie and move on field, but mostly for mean that would mean flying very low and forgetting other aircrafts since i can't really pull my self up.
