The thing is: Everyone can do everything makes it worse than ever before.
Specialists are ok, but they have to be limited by classes.
Even in BF3 everyone was able to equip DMRs, MPs and shotguns. So it's nothing new that you can change weapons to match you current situation no matter the class.
But that you can play as long range sniper with your own ammo crate is just stupid.
Also when I see an enemy Falck or Angel I expect a medic but then they pull out an Rocketlauncher out of... nowhere?
Just like every specialist has a Defib in their backpocket of course...
It doesnt fit their models...
If you drive a tank, did you ever get repaired by a non premade teammate? No? Me neither.
Because why should anyone equip a repair tool? There are better tools to equip. In previous games the anti tank units also had the repair tool by default so you could sometimes expect people to use it at least.
The whole idea about absolut freedom just creates a metagame where everyone uses the best in slot items no matter what specialist they use. We have already seen it with the PP-29. There will always be a meta weapon and a meta gadget/tool. So more freedom creates less diversity in the end... Thats just how things work.
