yep, exactly. After the initial sound of two steel whales rubbing against each other, I muted the music for the game (took about 10 seconds after launch). First/only BF game I've ever done that for. Most games I leave music on unless it is insanely repetitive/bad.

On the contrary I like the music in this game. I actually set my music package back to game launch. "It's asymmetrical music." To me it works specifically for this semi futuristic setting. It's a refreshing difference from the same old, same old.
Maybe year one 2042 it can get repetitive but we got other maps now with portal maps in the Conquest rotation with 2 more maps on the way. That's a 7 (vanilla maps) to 10 (seasonal + portal maps) ratio. I'd call that a fine balance.
Now don't misconstrue what I'm saying because BF1 still has my favorite score. Now if we want to roast 2042s battlefield theme then I'm right there with you.
