It's annoying when that happens
This has been an issue for every title in the series and there isn't exactly an easy fix for it.
It was either BF1 or BFV where the devs said their intention with quickplay is to have as many full lobbies as possible and not a bunch of half filled ones - you're supposed to stay and wait out the timer so everyone can play a full match after. They don't exactly show it too well but its definitely lossible to keep playing with the same AOW people.
The theory is you can show tickets and stuff in a server browser (portal in 2042's case) but nobody would want to join any server where they would be noticibly down.

@TTZ_DipsyAn issue for every title in the series? What are you on about?! I have been playing these games since BF1942. This became an issue with the removal of certain features and the addition of others i.e, their * matchmaking systems.
Certain features called persistent servers and a server browser. You know? Things this franchise is well known for. Well, used to be anyway.
EA and DICE are clearly going out of their way to make something that doesn't resemble those games at all.
Whether it comes to the design of the game or its technical state. - cso77773 years agoSeasoned Ace
@TTZ_DipsyThis could perhaps make sense for persistent servers, but now this is an insult to the players.
The mm-system is stupid and extremely annoying, even when entering a new game. Wait forever for a game to start, wait for a stupid voice-over (that you have heard a 1000 times already), wait for a animation "showing off" the map and finally wait for an animation of landing in a heli. After the fight we are back to waiting again, this time for stupid unskippable eor-screens...
Dice doesn't really get it. Don't annoy players, especially not with a game that is as bad as 2042 is, full of issues, low on content, bad maps and being everything the community didn't want. This ends up being another thing that makes people stop playing the game.- Anonymous3 years ago
Hoping for the new year we get some improvements to this system. I'm still fairly new with the game but this happens more often than it should.

Yeah me too, it is in dire need of a complete overhaul imho.

Yesterday after finally getting in to play a map I actually wanted to play, after the map loaded in the very next screen was.........DEFEAT. ☹️

First we have to look at cause. Why are there openings at the end of the games
Players are quitting when theyre getting their butts kicked.
There is nothing DICE can do to change this player behavior. So the options are
- Fill with players waiting and frustrate the hell out of them (hence this thread)
- Let the team finish short handed by adding the above example of code to prevent new players from joining.
What happens if the whole team quits? The other team wins faster, thus, getting into a game faster.
Really, what is the draw back to add the above code? Is there something I am missing?

I rarely even play this neglected mess of a game anymore.
Can't even bring myself to play one match for the daily bonus so that i may complete your grindy hamster wheel which you consider "added content".
How could i? When your game is still riddled with many oversights and annoyances. More than year later after its release. This just happens to be one of them.
This *'s pathetic.

As long as they ignore this and keep using this rotten MM system, we still have to cancel unwanted maps and be dropped in maps with just a few tickets left. And the sad part is..it aint over yet...2023 is at our doorstep with a big bag of frustration.
