Really feels like the entire vehicle system needs to be rebuilt from scratch to better fit in with the game, but given all the other work that needs to be done that hasn't begun (updates to other maps, the specialist system etc.) somehow I don't think this is ever going to be remotely in the cards.
So we'll just have vehicle musical chairs throughout 2042 and hope that DICE doesn't outsource vehicle development to an external studio with the next BF title. Because it feels like it was made in isolation by an outside studio who didn't share the same vision for the game that DICE did.
- Airstriker974 years agoRising Hotshot@edgecrusherO0 Transports I.E osprey/hind and little bird were the big issues. Nobody in feedback complains about jets and attack helictopers get some hate. But they are only strong in hard core. Jet jets get the bad end of the stick with each update. Why would you even put helis and jets together

I'm ok with separating attack jets from helicopters mostly because when someone in a team gets a jet, he takes away one heli and spends most of the time doing nothing. Don't get me wrong. That is because Jets destroy helicopters easily (good pilots), if not in one pass, in two passes. This fella in the jet is taking away one helicopter that participates in the infantry play, as opposed to a jet that does not affect infantry directly (but it does indirectly when it takes out a tank or wildcat). After sweeping the skies, jets are alone. Therefore, instead of having either a jet or a helicopter, 2 jets guaranteed would affect the helicopters less than it does now.
I'll explain: One jet at least for each team would also make the jet fight more balanced, because, as of now, EITHER jets OR helicopters is not working well. 2 jets would chase each other. On the other hand, 1 jet can dominate and clear all the helicopters and tanks and everything. The other teams needs a jet available to counter this dominance.
But, please, no buff to jets. I would APPLY A NERF IN MOBILITY, or FLARE RECHARGE, or limit the turbine boost instead, because if there is a good pilot on one side and no good pilots on the other side, infantry, wildcats and helicopters will not be able to defend from the good jet. If the stinger was more of a threat, it would, at the very least, fend the jets away. My idea is: If they don't fly too fast, soldiers SHOULD be able to make the jet flare once and lock on again to at least hit the jet with one rocket. It won't destroy the jet, but it can buy time.
Jets are too safe. Jets least 3 kills every 2 minutes, plus a lot of vehicles if you use AGM.
And there was never a good balance of jets in BF. Either you hate or you live them. Airplanes were always very strong. Comparing 2042 to older games is simply saying that jets are not as killers as in the d days, which is a compliment to BF2042.
If devs even consider making jets just a tad stronger, that is a very bad though already, and I hope it never sees the light of the day.

TL,DR: the OP is probably bored of killing everything that flies, or angry that the jet is never available.
Another thing in general: After spawning in the main seats of attack, there should be a 3 minutes restrictions from respawning again in attack vehicles.
That would discourage people from sitting in the respawn screen awaiting for the next available attack vehicle.
This restriction should never apply to being killed in a vehicle you steal.

@edgecrusherO0 or….. go with the tried and true vehicle ratios formula that worked in BF4 with modern jets and helicopters.
DICE failing miserably at reinventing the wheel is hilarious yet sad to watch.
I think the new DICE really hate the guys that did BF4 and the new DICE team does everything in their power to do the direct opposite of what fans love about vehicle set ups in that great game.- UP_Hawxxeye4 years agoLegend
@Zhukov211I cannot think of a single franchise that was ever spared of the fate of the new guys moving in and wanting to change a successful formula so that they feel they "own it" or that it is "up to date with current global standards"
Only franchises where the OG creators never give control to others can stay the same ( South Park)

@UP_HawxxeyeSorry Elden Ring utterly destroys that excuse. While Elden Ring has lots of new bells and whistles, at its core Elden Ring looks, feels and plays like a Souls game and Souls fans love FromSoftware for it. FromSoftware has made one of the greatest games of all time while staying true to their roots and by not chasing trends.
2042 on the other hand at its core looks, feels and plays nothing like a Battlefield game. It’s a below average, generic hero shooter that’s become mostly an AC-130 Gunship simulator with Hinds, Condors and stealth helis deciding the outcome of every match. Infantry and ground vehicles, to include the only AA tank, only exist to pad stats of pilots.
