I'll trust that EA has a small army of financial people. The second that their spreadsheets say that going F2P would be money maker you can bet they'd make that decision.
I'm not sure EA is interested in leaving money on the table in order to grow the player base.

@AngrySquid270 ^^^^ This. Trust me they have revenue/profit models (that can be wide in scope and encompass platforms/games) that tell them this.

Those packages are already showing up in the PlayStation Store ahead of the PS Plus "release" tomorrow.

They could make solo/coop and Hazard Zone F2P. That way a new player can test the water in Solo/Coop and try out HZ.
