@A-RAF2019 Irish can be good and causing blockades for chokepoints with the shield barriers, or if there's a semi-stationary vehicle they can guard it against most explosive attacks with their shoot-down-sentry thing. That said, I think he's my least-played specialist.
@Anobix Nice in theory, but the sentry is incredibly unreliable and fails to block most attacks. Even with one either side of the vehicle, or one in front and behind. Various distances tested.
Pretty much all the specialists have issues with balancing.
The whole specialist concept is flawed from a gameplay point of view, unless you're making a battle royale type of affair.
Of course, from a monetarization point of view, specialists are awesome. Imagine the action figure revenue.
It's pretty clear why Dice put them into this game, and equally clear why they're not going to take them out.
Which makes it rather interesting as to how Dice intend to approach the specialist feedback loop. I think the reason its taking so long to deliver on this, is that they're having trouble creating a set of questions that narrows the scope enough to avoid the issue of specialists as a whole, without looking like its the meaningless exercise it actually is.

the thing is that the sentry turret can be taken down with a decent amount of roundsthe real problem is the ranger- that thing is a friggin' tank.
i've never played as boris only faced the turrets so that's my experience
- @doctor_butts Hardcore is not a balanced mode. Hence its other name "noobcore"
It cannot be expected that the assets to be balanced around hardcore mode health pools
Oh, yeah, and they should explode when downed, not when dead after 40 seconds.
When I play with Boris and I die, I get some free kills, and it helps clear the area for my team mates revive me. The goddamn turret even stays there spotting. If it is not on line of sight and beeping, the team mates know it is clear.
I feel cheap when I play with Boris.
