Supply points, stations => Reply from user Calhoun0 !
We really need the supply points in general to return in Breakthrough (or Rush). They were usually off the objective slightly, while depots which repaired and resupplied vehicles and infantry were usually adjacent to objectives and distant or between sectors. Their existence granted the opportunity to take up predictable positions to protect against aircraft (Defenders) or to get one quick resupply on your way to the next sector or objective (Attackers). Also, in BF2, the aircraft were required to return to their airfield to resupply ammunition while tanks and IFVs were required to get resupply drops approved to resupply ammunition, which enabled nice lulls in the fighting which (especially for aircraft) gave the infantry a chance to catch their breath and realign to prepare for the soon-to-be incoming aircraft in some cases; simply dropping flares when you got targeted and hiding behind a ridgeline for 30 seconds wasn't enough to get you back in the fight.
The lack of these Battlefield V resupply points at objectives and the repair stations are probably one of the weakest things about Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 2042, that when you secure a sector you don't get the opportunity to reconsolidate and resupply in such a fashion before moving out. There are some circumstances as Attacker where it's actually easier to simply redeploy your character before you push than to wait for resupply, especially if there aren't enough/any people dropping ammo, when your team is making great progress and losing minimal tickets.
The addition of being allowed to equip three magazine types, of course, makes it a lesser issue when you can't get ammo than it was in other BF games, since you can maximize your primary weapon ammo count with additional magazine types equipped but it doesn't solve the issue outright. Especially when you're playing an Engineer Specialist that isn't Lis and, therefore, doesn't get an endless supply of missiles, or when you want to use the under-barrel shotgun or grenade launchers, or C5, or AT mines, etc.
Battlefield 2042 tries going all in on aspects of futuristic warfare - UAVs, electronic warfare, etc., but there is no way your squad leaders can request to get a drone or manned aircraft to drop a resupply/repair point that will benefit the entire team? The command overseeing these operations can drop a tank with parachutes when requested, but not one of these much needed positions? At minimum, it wouldn't hurt to allow helicopters to drop a supply crate which could act as both a (destructible, for the enemy) resupply/repair point, to bridge the gap.
One of the current reliable sources of ammo for your primary/secondary, as infantry, is dropped ammo which you can mostly easily spot. This doesn't resupply your grenade, C5, AT ammo etc. however. I would say it would be best if this was changed to reflect the way it were in Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142, perhaps; in both of these you could have ammo dropped that would resupply your ammo in general, but it required around 4 or 5 of these drops (which needed to regenerate for the support player, and had a cooldown to balance the ability to resupply this stuff everywhere) to get grenades or C4 or missiles resupplied (BF2). I don't think it would be unreasonable to be able to resupply a single grenade, single C5, or single missile, from several ammo packs dropped by dead enemies, especially since they aren't guaranteed or persistent sources of resupply. If the Support class could drop ammo packs ala BF1 again, several of them could serve the function of replenishing your primary/secondary ammo fully (2-3) while more would replenish your gadgets or explosives (5-6 for one grenade, missile, and C5, for example; maybe more or less depending on balance).
