Why the hell would you nerf a gun actually working, there was very few of those...?Knee J E R K reaction to balance.Now it will just be Sniper Rifle city again...

The SVK Nerf from patch 3.1 completely ruins the DMR weapon class. The recoil and recovery has now made the SVK more comparable to a sniper rifle, but with less damage, and the DM7 was already worse than any AR. Between the two available DMR weapons, the SVK was the only viable option as it excelled in mid range fights. And for people who complain, keep in mind that being '2-shot' by the SVK was only possible with high powered ammunition (which comes in a 5-round magazine)... With the recent changes, ARs are now better than any DMR. Why would anyone use a DMR now?If the weapon is designed for mid range fights, why shouldn't it be the strongest weapon at this range? With the nerf, there's no reason for anyone to use a DMR, and just one more reason in an ever growing list to not play BF2042 at all.

They reduced the fire rate and increased the recoil recovery... It actually is trash now...

@Eventhius85 Well deserved it was an unworthy easymode weapon cspable of out dps AR , smgs , Snipers at any range .. Its very design was broken if they adjusted it . Its a good thing

It was a two-hit canon, which I loved btw. But I think that is why! You could have the second shot in the air before the 1st shot hit lol....

I played some round since patch and I also used the SVK to test itin my opinion they didn't really nerf the SVK it is still a two shot kill weapon and related to the in-game stats one shot still does 75 damage with high power ammunitionthey only thing that they did there is much more recoil now, to up\left, which feels a little bit strange to, I’m more used to up right (but I think I need only some time to get used to it)this means you need a little bit more time between the shots to get into the target but still a kiler weaponSo, it is more a balance thing than a nerf See you on the Battlefield

@Eventhius85 What? They nerfed it? It was my favourite gun tbh. I loved counter the snipers with it. Just finished its mastery yesterday. Thank god for that lol.

Neither did I, but I'm in game and it is definitely the case.
The game is going to turn to a headless chicken shooter with SMGs / AR spam and no mid-range.
LMG bi-pods with good optics and decent DMRS provide a necessary range between AR and Sniper now that is broken.
And with vehicles basically trash now because of the recon drone C5 meta, breakthrough is near impossible - taking the objectives off the roof hasn't solved anything they did not instantly undo.
