Switching off text chat?

Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to switch off text chat on Battlefield 2042?

I'm on a PS5, so solutions for PC may not work for me. 

I'm asking because it often has a fair amount of abuse and trolling, which appears on the TV for all to see. It's pretty off-putting to say the least and distracting. 

It would also be great if there was an option to allow squad chat to remain while stopping chat appearing for the whole team. I enjoy the game and getting sick of reading the toxic trolling.

    Same here. I’ve had multiple instances of people accusing me of cheating, being belligerent and obviously swearing in the chat log. 

    I find it extremely exhausting and disrespectful that there isn’t even an option to disable it.  

    Please consider the option to disable the text. I’ve never found any beneficial communication through this messaging system.

    The marking system and in game request system is enough to coordinate effectively without permitting the toxicity.

    I haven't found an option to turn it off but I've found an option to reduce the font size.

    Now it's so tiny on my TV screen i can easily ignore it.

    OMG there are curse words in chat? Do you also play with the sound off since the players curse?

    after doing a key binding the text chat window is still on screen. another issue with this game that the DEVs ignore.....almost as bad is no squad control and having to deal with toxic players mostly PC
