@ATFGunr there was one of the Geists/zombies which once did on me a takedown with the stun batton. From my PoV it looked as if the batton was aimed right at my soldier's butt.
I don't like the third person take downs at all. Not only do they take so long as stated above it's disorienting. I want my first person stabs back since this is a Battlefield game. Seeing it in first person always gave me a thrill when I kill those campers or knife someone who is trying to knife me. The third person take down also seems to break my ability to time a take down correctly when compared to previous games.
I don't know how many times I got killed during the take down that cost me the kill. I agree with OP they just take too long and distract from the game.
