The typical 'I don't understand it, therefore it is not required, therefore don't add it' attitude that I really despise.
You don't have friends you play with I guess. If you do, then most likely less than 3.
Another reason is to be able to leave a squad with campers or players that don't PTO and find one with players that do (unless you are a base camper yourself, then this most likely does not matter for you as well as it does for those of us who what to a) play together with friends in the same squad and/or -- if not playing with friends -- b) be able to find a squad that aligns with your play style.
If you want to play with friends then the squad size should be increased to 6 or 8, ask for that.

Bigger squad sizes won't help if you can't select a new squad you want to switch into if your current squad consists of players that don't align with your play style (and this is true independent of if you want to PTFO or do base camping).
Also, IMO there is a limit as to how big squads can be to not be skew balance. If you have a 8 man squad you can almost never wipe all and there is always one player alive/remaining. But it is important for balance purposes to really be able kill all players in one squad and their beacons if they have placed any. Either this, or limit squad spawns to captured flags and squad leaders only. Then you might get away with bigger squad sizes.- Anobix4 years agoSeasoned Ace

I just wish that I could have a party larger than 4 so that I can join friends that started playing together 5 minutes before I could login to join them. Even if we're not in a squad together I would at least be able to communicate with them over VOIP/discord/etc and help at least.
Agreed though that if there are larger squads (I think in the current incarnation 5 would have to be the limit for the reasons you laid out) unless it is drastically changed to be squad leader (which we would need a way to manage/relinquish that role...). Spawn beacons also need to be bigger/make noise like in BF4.

A better squad management system would be appreciated.
But any sort of teamswitch functionality would need to come with some extra measures to prevent abuse (no switching to the winning team, no switching if it would unbalance teams in skill or player count).
