Teamwork - Automated Squad Leader Promotion

Battlefield Team, First off....Battlefield Fan since the original 1942, Battlefield 2042 has brought me hundreds if not thousands of hours of great gaming...Thank You.

Having said that. we know teamwork is a big focus for the 2042 Team.  I believe one of the EASIEST ways to achieve this is to bring back the Squad Leader Promotion feature whereby a member is promoted to squad leader when requesting an order is unfulfilled within X (1 or 2 minutes) amount of time...this may be an easy way to promote teamwork.

We know that a squad leader can promote a squad member to Squad Leader, however if a squad leader is not willing to place orders, they're certainly not going to promote anyone.

Thank You

  • @Annihilator1976 you played "hundreads if not thousands of hours" and did not realize that beign a squadleader does about the same for you as not beign one? you get no points for orders followed or objectives attacked/defended. squadplay is dead in 2042 the game doesn't even show the top squads like in BF1 or BFV even where coordination at least got you to show of how much better your squad was. instead single person achievements are getting highlighted because this game was always about the single person. teamplay is all but dead

They used to refer to this as the mutiny feature. It amazes me how much they talk about wanting to promote better teamplay and then remove so many of the incentives. Squads that followed an active squad leader would perform better on leaderboards because score was given for completing objectives (defending/capturing). Having squad management tools also incentivized players to follow squad orders so as to remain in the squad.

In the most recent Inside Battlefield podcast the producers kept talking about challenges of prioritizing game changes and improvements. This was an explanation for why many of those things aren't done. But all of these legacy features they keep talking about were present in earlier titles. Until BF1, they were even present at release.

Both BF1 and BFV also suffered this same problem where the mutiny feature was missing at release and then later added. They just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. I can only think they just didn't get the budget and staff they had for BF4 and earlier.
