As always, no one is happy with the way cross play works. But while pc-players generally want aim assist or any other technique that is supposed to even out the odds tweaked or removed, console players in general prefer not to be forced to play against pc/m&k players at all.
I think that says it all.
I love cross-platform play, it's one of the best things that has happened to the gaming industries in a long time.
It's true there are some tweaks that need to be done, but it's a work in progress.
Without PC players lobbies wouldn't fill up. I also enjoy the different playing styles that all platforms bring.
Overall if console players played with just console players, eventually over time they will get accused of cheating. It's an endless cycle no matter what people will always keep complaining untill they are able to understand that they died by a legitimate player.

DConsole players were fine without PC players for about 2 decades. Aim Assist/M&K differences will never be solved completely and satisfyingly.

And due to a matchmaking bug awhile back PC players could only join 64p queues. Console players could only join 128p queues. I noticed no change in matchmaking times.

No, I'm sorry your wrong. Every morning when I log in 128 player server hardly fills. Then it fluctuates players leave new players join. This is with cross-platform play on. With cross-platform play off there are some circumstance when games would fill, but they don't stay full all day.
Don't give into EA and Dice, by putting a band aide fix on cross-platform play. By, just saying let's have PC players with PC and console with console players. EA and Dice can fix the problems between the different engines people are playing on. It just needs time and work. Future BF titles will have cross-platform play as with every other single, highly known game that comes out.

If off peak times / low pop regions / low pop game modes are your concern then I think the better solution is to only enable crossplay when needed to fill servers in a reasonable time.
But where do we draw the line at compromises made in the name of matchmaking?
If last gen players start complaining about dying servers should we then downgrade all servers to 20Hz to accommodate them?
To support low pop regions should DICE officially open up the servers to out of regions players?
There's no right answers there, everyone is going to draw their personal line of matchmaking quality vs queue time.
