If off peak times / low pop regions / low pop game modes are your concern then I think the better solution is to only enable crossplay when needed to fill servers in a reasonable time.
But where do we draw the line at compromises made in the name of matchmaking?
If last gen players start complaining about dying servers should we then downgrade all servers to 20Hz to accommodate them?
To support low pop regions should DICE officially open up the servers to out of regions players?
There's no right answers there, everyone is going to draw their personal line of matchmaking quality vs queue time.
Aim assist is:
Snap to target
Crosshair slowdown over target
Auto tracking of target (rotational)
25% recoil reduction
Spread reduction
Bullet magnetism (bullets hit target even though you miss)
I'm not sure how many aim assists BF2042 is currently using. I think 4 out of 6 on the list.

Dang that would be handy, not sure how anyone could play with that though, especially if everyone has it? I’ll have to google it to find out if you’re yanking the PC players lol! (Edit, wow it’s a thing! Or was in Halo and Odessy that I read about)
- RaginSam2 years agoSeasoned Ace@ATFGunr I think Halo was one of the first games to introduce it. It was definitely in Destiny, which was made by Bungie. I don't think it's in BF2042 though.
To be honest, it worked for Destiny 2, but I don't think it belongs in a game like Battlefield however.- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@RaginSam I was reading about its biggest shortcoming, in that the magnetism tries to draw the bullets to where the target was, while you’re trying to shoot where the target is moving (leading the target). I’d go bonkers if my bullets kept going to where they were…. Oh wait we get that with the desync and lag in 2042. It does drive me bonkers.
