The 'community' is the problem

When the BFV trailer dropped, there was an absolute outcry over the customisation options (and archetypes), on how a players class should be clearly identifiable.

BF 2042 trailer drops and now there is an outcry over an apparent lack of customisation and being shoe horned into a rigid character that has a name!

Oh, the travesty! 

To be honest, I'm not surprised but really......

    It's the internet.

    A tiny portion of the players spend time discussing games.

    An even smaller portion rage about things not yet seen or tried in practice. 😉

    @Trokey66 Eh, this is a vocal minority. Look at the Youtube stats...BF2042 reveal trailer currently sits #1 on trending with 759K upvotes and just 18k downvotes. Basically the opposite reaction to BFV LOL!!!

    Battlefield is back! The gameplay fans of the series want is back. That's all BF fans really care about.

    @SofaJockeyUKalas, you are correct but it happens every time and the is often contradiction and/or hipocracy in there somewhere.

    @ArchAngeL-PCX unfortunately, DICE seem to have a nasty habit of listening to vocal minorities.

    Whilst I am optimistic about BF 2042, I am still cautious after BFV and I gave that game significant benefit of the doubt in the beginning.

    @Trokey66 Ha. You're not wrong - and it will happen next time too.

    So much about gaming (and talking about gaming) is the entertainment and even joy I get from it.

    I feel sad for people who are motivated only to share their misery online, but that's their lookout

    (and that doesn't include sincere people who raise legitimate concerns based on actual information, which is fair enough).

    Watching the joy in the reaction videos of the recent trailer was invigorating.

    @Trokey66 I hear you. I couldn't agree more, especially when you also consider what happened with Star Wars Battlefront before BFV. The last thing I wanted to hear was an EA Exec once again saying, "We heard you loud and clear." Brace for it! LOL!!!!

    This has all the signs of EA circling the wagons and just doing what's right by the Battlefield fans and the series itself. They couldn't afford another bad showing, not with the comeback COD has made.

    @SofaJockeyUK discussion, and where deserved, criticism of the known should be encouraged and as you say, can be an enjoyable pass time if the debate is good.

    Criticism of the unknown is just whinging for whinging sake.

    @ArchAngeL-PCX I think people forget how long game development takes. 'Learning' from a game can only really be implemented adequately in the next game (and that can take years).

    @Trokey66They should appreciate that we care and raise our voice to let them know our concern. What you are doing, Sir, is complaining about players complaining and thats kind of worse, because it doesn't drive the discussion about the game anywhere. Do you think DICE didn't appreciate that the community raised their voice about BFV? Thats probably why we have a modern and SJW-free game now and players are generally VERY HAPPY! Look at the like/dislike ratio on the trailer. The community is NOT the problem, but the compass that gives direction. This game is the proof.

    And yes, I am complaining about people complaining about things they know little about yet?

    Of more concern to me is all specialists/classes having access to all weapons possibly leading to you tuber driven go to load outs.

    How easy will it be to tell a friendly Bob from an enemy Bob?

    Genuine concerns but surround by unknowns so there is no point in critiquing or as many are at the minute, whinging about them.

    After game play release but more realistically, after Beta is the time for genuine criticism as there will be 'evidence' for it.
