The end of BF Series
Just like so many others, I think it’s now the end of the real BF. I’m an older gamer, BF3, BF4 we’re the best. My friends won’t play 2042 and I think I may be done too. I don’t care what y’all think...

People were saying the same thing when Bf3 was released. Hell maybe even BF2 so this is nothing new we are hearing. But guess what I guarantee BF will live on.
If they head to the " hero shooter" that have been announced lately for the future of the franchise for me its gonna be the nail in the coffin. I understand they want thier share of kiddos from those free to play magical mechanics popular shooters battle royale style but battlefield is not free!! Those popular games are extremly popular because THEY ARE FREE in the first place! With bf 2042 i think they made it futuristic to be able to add some similar mechanics to copy those other games with magical or unrealistic mechanics fortnite style ect. But the game cost around 60- 120$ from place to places, they wont get those big player numbers with a game that cost that much!! With the direction of the game they have to stop using the BATTLEFIELD name!! They use the legacy of the franchise to boost sales on new games that are not even using the " legacy features" that made Battlefield great !! Its sad that we are now here, with this 2042 wannabe style in a identity crisis that hurts the battlefield franchise legacy!!
We need a bf going back to its roots, a bf that will make those hundreds of thousands( maybe millions) of old battlefield enthousiast happy and trust me with the power of social medias and all the franchise will get a big boost of positive reviews and marketing and the sales will follow with it!! Right now its the complete opposite!!
The game is on sale right now at almost 40% discount and the player count still continue to drop like a rock i did not notice any new players boost, the game have so much negative vibes all over the internet its not even funny to see a so good franchise getting hammered like it is right now !!
Coming from BF2 and playing BF3 or 4 I thought they added way too much to 3 & 4 in terms of weapons and gadgets and stuff. With that said I think that is why I get a BF2 vibe from 2042 in terms of hardly any weapons or maps. Since playing 2042 I use mainly 2 specialists so far and I rotate between 4 of the guns. I know I don't speak for everyone but to me sometimes more is not better.
I mean you know why it doesn't have much weapons right now it's cause of the battle pass they will release more weapons as time moves along with each season cause they make more money with this battle pass stuff than actually making a dlc map pack but every season will have a new specialist or 2 with new weapons mabye a map or 2

It should show that with such a mindset we never would need any innovation or evolution because the old things still working. So welcome to the stone age....
It the same that BF2042 is only using the DX12 API with your understanding this is not needed because DX11 is still doing the job.
So, it seems to me that complainer don’t want innovations or evolution 😉

I think you request is a little bit presumptuous, why do you think they should always serve the people who a complaining the most? If you want nostalgia play Portal there you have contend of three classic Battlefield games 😉 And maybe me more in Future so let’s wait ^^
As written before the "love letter to the fans" is not the main game it is clearly stated that this is the Portal mode but hey if you don't want accept it is your thing.
You see, you are able to talk with your wallet as you did with CoD 😉 So do the same with BF2042 if you don’t like but please stop demanding things that are not needed because BF2022 AoW works as it is. (If you like it or not 😉)
@nemisis2123 more is not every time good 😉 I had made a calculation in another thread, if we had so many weapons like BF4, a casual player would need around 800h to 1300h playtime to unlock every attachment (when we use the system of BF2042)
I think such a playtime only the real hardcore fans will put into the game 😉 so it is better the way BF2042 is doing it imho

11 full games plus 40 expansions to those games.
i did not count bf2042 and the star wars franchise.

its more like a run-n-gun game that isnt 1/2 as good as CoD run-n-gun.

there has never ever been as big a protest to this game ever.
i been playing since the first one.
there has always been people playing.
they only let you look at the advanced search (browse) for portal and hazarard.
why cant we look at it for the main game?
why cant we pick the main mode with 64 players or in our own country like you can with portal?
this is the dumbest downed version of bf series i ever played.

I feel mad and dissapointed about that discount for the game only 3 weeks from launch. Maybe I can understand that's something about this season but the real fact is that EA is trying to get new players so its game wont drop till death. It's absolutely unfare for loyal followers of BF franchise and we shouldn't pay the price of their wrong idea. We deserve more than a weird copy of other games.BF is not what it used to be. Something is missing on this BF2042.
I feel so regretful I bought the game. I should've notice on beta that this wouldn't fill my expectations then I could have had time to ask a refund.After playing some Conquest of ages I wasn't having any fun. I felt so restricted with the classes system. Going back to AOW was like a breath of fresh air.
