The old scoreboard
Please bring back the old scoreboard showing kills, deaths, score, ping etc of all people in the server. The new one is too messy, unclear and doesn't show me useful information or just too little in...

Fact is, every BF beta before, had a normal, basic scoring board. Scoring boards exists since...i dunno, pong? And this the 2042 beta did not have one, the question becomes relevant because without it, how do you know your performance within the game of 127 people? You won ok. How many kills compared to the other side etc.
All it would take is for one of the Dice people here to confirm it. Wham bam, we dont need to discuss it anymore. They are not doing it. So we are talking about it.

@Trokey66Im not sure why you are on this board. Is there something you know we dont? Did you play the beta? The scoreboard was changed. Do you own BF 4 or 1 or V? Boot them up and look the board.
The whole point of board is after the game, i want to see how i performed when compared to the opposite team. A scoreboard is like the basic fundamental aspect of most games going back all the way to pong.
Since the last 4 BF betas (which i played all of them) had a proper scoreboard in them, one can assume that the new version Dice put in is here to stay. Hence the "outrage".Also, yeah our assumptions come from the beta. And why not? Did u see my previews reply? All it takes is for dice to say "dont sweat it, its in" and no one will ever yap about it again. Im not sure why this is so hard to grasp for you, unless you're just trolling?
- @Buzzfunk Have played since Bad Company and all the Betas and seen the scoreboard change with each iteration.
It is well documented that the Beta lacked many key features with some not working as intended.
This may well include the scoreboard.
Until we see the final product, we don't KNOW what exactly we are getting so why whinge about it now?
If the scoreboard proves inadequate then, then bu all means whinge about it, I may even join in!
And one should never assume because, well you know why......

a one size fits all scoreboard is not a great measurement system for BF because of all the different roles you can play. the scoreboard only shows k/d and points. But it won't tell you if you led in revives or resupplies or flag caps or vehicle damage or spotting etc. And some roles will get more kills like pilots and tankers compared to infantry. So the scoreboard is a pretty limited measurement system for a large team objective based game.
They can show that without a scoreboard.
And actually in BF1, that's what they did. One of the end of the round screens told me what place I was in kills or revives etc (up to top 5 or something like that) as well as how your squad ranked in a few categories.
so looking back, the process to evolve away from the traditional scoreboard started at least as far back as BF1.

2042 does't even show your name and your opponents name. There was a hidding scoreboard in the beta but it did not display any kill/ deaths or score overall.You are literally the only person here who screams "its fine, stop complaining about it". I don't think you read my post past the first 13 words of the first sentence. Because you didn't address any pt I made.
@Trokey66 When you think like this, than why is there overall a BETA?
Than no game needs a beta or a trailer or what else. Why don't we just buy all the games blind and only whine afterwards, when we can't get our money back!
Hell maybe we shouldn't even know the name or the category of the games. All games should just have number-codes, wich no one knows and than should pay for somehing, wich could be the biggest crap on earth.
THIS IS YOUR LOGIC! *facepalm*There was a Beta to see what the game already has and what is still missing --> than there is feedback from the costumers, what needs to be fixxed --> then there is a answer from the devs from things they will change or are alreday changed --------- This happend already! - but the scoreboard was not adressed by the devs, so we need to worry. And than you came here and are just trolling it seems!
@trip1ex Well, the game can have BOTH! The normal scoreboard what we want and the other stuff at the end, what you want. It's not a "either or" stuff...

If you don't understand what Beta's are for, I can't help you but as so many things were missing, not enabled or a 'work in progress' it is not unreasonable to assume that that may include the scoreboard. People are saying, that specialists and this Game will focus on teamplay, yet the Main focus of the scoreboard, if you can even call that Trash scoreboard, are Kills. There is Really nothing useful see. You can't even See, if you are doing good.
Everything in this Game is not built around teamplay, because it is built around Hazard Zone, which is 4 vs. the rest or "everyone for themselves".

Again, EVERY BF beta before 2042 had a proper scoring board. Is that so hard to get? Also, most of the other betas, the final game was close to be identical. And since we have these boards here, yeah, we are voicing concern because most here would agree, it would be nice to see how i performed in a game and not JUST the squad. And what are you yapping about BF1? It has the exact same scoreboard as BF V. I just played it. Its clear and simple. Hit tab done.

Say what? lol. dude, I think you are very confused. @Trokey66Im pretty sure i know what a beta is. If we'd use your logic, there would no point at all to yap about this game on this board. Do you see most of the threads? Its OBVIOUS that yes, a proper scoreboard may be be in the final game but since every other beta of BF before had it (3, 4, one, V), its something to just voice a gamers concern. If you played the beta and hit TAB - clearly, they changed how the SB looks. Most agree, you evidently just want people to stop whining about it.

Say what? lol. dude, I think you are very confused.I said that, not @trip1ex and he is correct, a basic scoreboard alone does not give an indication beyond kills, deaths and total points.
BF1's end of round screens went much deeper.
A Beta is more about a developer testing the game externally than players seeing a finished product. Of course they will listen to feedback along the way and change other things (BF4's RPGs could lock on in that Beta for example and who can forget BF3's Medic).
Fact is, Betas should only be taken as an indication of the finished product and not a true representation, things can and will change.

Are you new to video games? The end of round screen in 4, 1, V always gives you info on your squad but this time they bound tab to the squad info and hid away the scoreboard with zero info on it. Why is this something you dont seem to understand? This has been standard in games since Pong. Since the beta of BF 4, 1 and V HAD normal scoreboards, its obviously a concern. Also, none of Dice community managers answered when people ask them. Its not like a secret. Them not telling, basically means its not in there.- @Buzzfunk Wanting and needing are two different things. We know there will be some form of end of round screens for that and there will be some form of incase scoreboard is very likely although it's actual form is not known yet.
The hyperbole from some people because of the potential lack of the 'old scoreboard' and threatening to not get the game because of it is just rediculous.

Last time I played pong, the only scoreboard was at the top of the screen. Space Invaders and Asterouds again only had your score at the top although they did have a leader board that reset if some idiot turned the machine off.
So no, an in game score board has NOT been standard since pong and would suggest that in the grand scheme of things, is a relatively new addition to video games. I can only hope they will do as they did in BF1:
A normal scoreboard as in previous Battlefield games, but then also an End Of Round display of first Best Squad, then a screen with the names and achievement of 5 players who have stood out in various predefined ways.

Well, there is ABSOLUTELY zero reason to not have a traditional in-game scoreboard. Not going to /wrist over anything till I see what we get on the 12th. What we had in beta at best was a seriously lazy implementation. Let's just relax and then see what we get, I will basically be paying for my EA Pro Sub for one month and give it one month of solid gameplay. If it's not what I want I will just unsub. No harm no foul. Just DICE failing to deliver.
@Threedog1421I think we'd all agree there is no technical reason for not having a scoreboard (if we are not having one), but there will be a reason if not, otherwise they would include it?
I can think of two:
128 player means a list with 64 lines, all but the top 20 or so will need to scroll to see their stats, and I don't know about anyone else but I have always had trouble scrolling down the list on the fly within BF games if I'm not in the visible part.
More importantly, AI soldiers will need to appear. Can you imagine the stick EA are going to get week after week if AI perform better than human players or underperform and let squads down?
Also, you confuse me with the EA Pro thing. That's not how it works is it? I have EA pro, I still had to buy the game. You can't just sign up to EA pro subscriptions and download the game can you? If I've got that wrong let me know and I'll ask for my money back.

To be fair, we've had a whole string of posters jumping in on here, making demands about what or should not be included, what's fair and what isn't fair. Its all a bit wearing really. There have been a lot of changes discussed and argued about. Yes, EA do read the threads and do respond to them, but maybe not listen so much to someone whose only contribution to the community is on one topic and then getting annoyed when they find out other posters don't agree.
Many here have changes that they would rather not see, but most are willing to give it a go because they are still excited and want the game to be a success.
I love the old scoreboard. It would be a big mis for me if it's not there anymore.. I think I pop up the score board 50 times in a match. Just to see how I'm performing. Always try to come to the top. It also stimulates to help teammates and see you going up in points. I think it would be at least a good option to give the player the choice to activate it in options.
