The pains of a lonely transport pilot (message to the devs)

I'm not a content creator so I don't know if this will even be looked at, but I wanted to share my unpopular thoughts and ask the developers to consider something with relation to the Hind and Condor.

I fly these vehicles every chance I get and have serious doubt that there are many people who have logged more hours of flight time in these vehicles . People know because I'm quite vocal in chat in asking for assistance or discussing the plan to kill a Wildcat for instance (I probably take the game way too seriously and need to find another hobby 😂).

I've seen nerf after nerf and nerf of these vehicles (at the communities request) and each time I've found a way to become uber effective with these vehicles.

But with the latest and most drastic nerf to come (the removal of the main weaponry) I'm obviously super disappointed because where things like Wildcats, MAV's, CAV's and RAM's were always challenging to deal with, with a coordinated crew it was still possible to take them on and have a shot at winning that personal battle. Well now I can see the air transport vehicles being used more as a mechanism of fleeing from AA rockets and Lis rockets, and rail tasks, mav's, cav's, ram's, navin's and the rest of the sizable list of things that are gunning to kill me and my crew.

I know a few pilots like me who are skilled and I see regularly piloting these vehicles. We're a small community and I understand the choice to please the masses who don't want to even atrempt to fight and certainly don't want to die to air vehicles. It is what it is.  But what's in it for us?

I've been thinking about whether I'll want to pilot after the coming change or if this part of the game that's become my favorite is something that it's time to just let go of. That brought me to the idea of perhaps adding a new stat that tracks flight time and rewards the pilot with points for staying in flight (over or within the range or height of the objective "so people can't just go hide on the side of a mountain and collect points"), in addition to assists (which will be gravely reduced now). This way it at least gives an air transport pilot some incentive to pilot a vehicle that essentially will spend the majority of its time now running. Reward us then for our skill at keeping people alive while dodging all the things trying to kill us, that we now have no way of returning fire on.

Again, I don't even know if this is the proper way to get a message to the devs but if so I'm hoping something like this can be considered. If you've read this (it's a lot I know) thanks in advance.

  • I feel you. 90% of players want to run and gun around a small area. They don’t want to be bothered by :

    - air vehicles

    - ground vehicles

    - snipers

    - big maps/traverse time

They are the most vocal players and the developer has to cater to the majority.
I mostly play infantry but occasionally sniping and vehicle play with friends microphone turned on. Only way.
BUT!! This game would not be a battlefield game without all those things that bother headless chicken.
I appreciate your post about this.

It’s not possible to have a game with infantry, ground and air units that is balanced for all.

    That’s just how it is,

A number of Battlefield games managed the balance really well. Problem is that Dice Sweden often swings wildly when it comes to balance updates and often goes too far in one direction or another that requires more balance updates which go on and on until everything is equally unfun to use.

Totally agree, there seems to be no happy medium in their approach.

When I was writing the post I pictured in my mind the Hind eventually being reduced to a frame with a propeller that 4 or five soldiers hang onto (like a hang glider) 😂😂. The nerfing has become utterly ridiculous at this point
