It is enough that the damage for a laser mark is already very impressive, but for air vehicles it is critical. The countermeasures of the technique must work flawlessly, otherwise the technique will become just not interesting to use. Do not forget that you can shoot at the laser mark from any iron, which is in no way comparable with balance. Koto generally came up with this so that you could shoot an RPG at a laser mark.
Completely agreed with many points in this thread.
A SOFLAM shouldn't be breakable with flares as long as they are still on-target laser-designating the target. I think that would resolve a lot of the issues with the device, beyond just actually receiving credit for helping do something.

I don't know why we still get no points for lasering when this issue was already acknowledged some months ago, but I can just assume the new squad management fixes it (or at least right thereafter...)
