The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...

@AdamonicWhen it comes to COD MW2 the aim-assist is rediculously strong. It's no meaning to be skillful and experienced. Fast reflexes is the only thing. Not a game for me!
I actually think we see things a bit same but from different sides. Input method should be priority one. I still feel that a high end PC and monitor has a slight advantage over Console and TV thou. I also feel that it's not only the input method that makes the difference between PC and console. Maybe it's also netcode or something?
I think that’s where some of the frustration is coming from regarding aim assist. MW2 is just following the trend. Before on PC when controllers were supported the mentality wasn’t that they were meant to compete with a mouse. It was simply an accessibility option. Now developers are trying to tune aim assist to be “fair”, which usually means too much assist. You can see the stats in games like Halo where the top players are almost exclusively using controllers and have far better accuracy statistics then the best MnK players.
The second point about having a high end PC and monitor being a slight advantage, it’s pretty minimal. Being able to consistently hit more shots without any misses is a much bigger advantage.
60hz is about 16ms between frames
120hz is about 8ms
The average gamer reaction is around 200+ ms
Using a gun with 700rpm is about a bullet every 11ms
The servers are running at 45hz 22ms
When manually aiming you’re more likely to miss a bullet here and there adjusting back onto target. If my PC stutters for whatever reason, that directly effects aim too. Not to mention visual clutter, which is another plus for assist.
I just don’t see why controllers NEED to compete with MnK on PC. I think that’s the wrong mentality from the start.
This game is not MW2 or Halo, this is BF2042, and aim assist does not work in most of the game situations, such as vehicle gunner or any medium or long range combat.
That's why console players are demanding for console only crossplay and mnk support for consoles since the beta. On PC you can choose both input methods, we are forced to play with the worst.
The "Other" game's AA is off the charts. I don't know why anyone would play a game like that, what's the point?
There is an insanely blatant console hacker in the matches tonight. Gets over 75 kills on foot in every round they play, and less than ten deaths. When they were on my team I followed after them, they were running twice as fast, running directly to people you couldn't see, and hitting everyone in the head. When they were on the enemy team, blatantly snaplocking, instakilling at range, eating entire magazines. They outpace vehicle players for kills.
Sounds realshitty. I don't suppose you took a screenshot of the person's ID and maybe a video as evidence did ya?
I am not 100 percent but isn't there a way of reporting such things?
@ace_wolf08 I've reported them. I didn't have the ability to film them. They're allegedly a 'competitive' player. I'd like to know how being a 'competitive' player makes your weapons do more damage, lets you run two times faster, and lets you locate every single person. Oh, and lets you tank half a magazine to the face.
Let's give us a "Crossplay - Console (PS+XBOX) Only" .
I believe that most of console players don't want to crossplay with PC Player.
