The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
Yep. It's a combination of a .8X FSM and some sort of time delay before your shots register. The latter appears to be undocumented.
i still think the best solution is to have playstation 5 vs xbox series crossplay, xbox one vs ps4 crossplay and let PC do PC things in their own pond.
console players are never going to be happy going against PC players (even if they add MnK support because most console players will still use controllers) without some sort of aim assist and PC players are never going to be happy going against console players with aim assist. the two are mutually exclusive. the only possible compromise is input based matchmaking
90% of my deaths from consoles are headshots. The demo shows that if you lower the FOV and use a lower mag scope, the aim assist focuses the aim at the head more often.
how about we wait for the netcode/desync issue to be fixed before pointing fingers?
when both sides say the same thing, it isn't an issue with either side, its an issue with the game.
plus no one on here has bothered to test anything, just point fingers and read some specs, none of which work like that in the game.
aim assist only works on players with good connections. so most PC players will have good connections, while many console players won't, its the nature of things. I know this isn't exact, and generalized, but a good theory.
I don't think aim assist should be a thing on PC. If you want to use a controller on PC, it should be fully supported and functional, but it shouldn't get any exclusive advantages. I still don't see how that's fair.
Crossplay just needs to go. There's something going on that these companies aren't being totally transparent about. I swear that as a PC player, that I'm being put behind console players on the server by at least one to two ticks. I can see them first, land my shots, and soon as they react to me I'm dead instantly. There's times that I thought they either quick scoped head shot me, or hit me with a shotgun, but then it turns out to be an LMG! I received all the damage in one tick and wasn't even able to fire off a single round with an SMG. Like the server already determined that I was killed and ignored my inputs. I think we need to start asking these companies what are the parameters of lag comp, how do your systems work, why does crossplay feel so off, are you giving console players the advantage with the networking?
When the only goal of a game is to win your gunfights, and it gives you nothing else, then I have ZERO interest in crossplay. If games evolve into something bigger than just about who has the quickest reflexes and pixel perfect aim, then I'd be a lot more open to it.
@RaginSam Most on console play using wifi which causes ping time fluctuations. Battle(non)sense did a netcode video showing that ping fluctuations cause bundled damage and cut the TTD in half.

Give me Gyro Aim + Flick Stick like MWII or Fortnite has and I could carealess if Im crossplaying with MnK players. Aim Assist is unnecessary. Hopefully 1 day EA/DICE will start supporting Gyro for controller players...
