To me longer seasons mean that I can afford to miss out some weeks in-between

Adding only one new map in 14 weeks is killer for me. That is just too little. Even if they didn't do 4 new maps, at least add two per season.
I still have the odd sense that all the content we have seen so far was originally for Season 1 (4 maps, 4 Specialists, etc) and you would gain access to that content over 12 weeks in the Battle Pass. That's why Season 5 will probably just have a new map and some Portal guns, and that map is being developed now.
This has been one big ruse. Once EA told them to dump the title (December of 2021), they had a skeleton crew of junior developers literally learning how to code on the fly. The end product shows that level of expertise. Everything in the game is clunky and unrefined.Has anyone else noticed how quiet they have gotten since the last EA earnings? It is like a replay of last year, yet we are actually in an active season. They at least mentioned BF2042 in the earnings call:
"Net bookings for the third quarter were $2.3 billion, down 9% or 5% in constant currency, driven largely by a tough comp as we lap the launch of Battlefield 2042"
season length is fine. some of us don't want to play a couple hours every day just to unlock T1 on the season
