The visual design theme in BF2042 and how it compares to aka 10 year old BF4
There have over recent couple of weeks been many threads started here about how the graphics, colouring, and aka lens glare in BF2042 are troubling elements for many players. So how in principle the the graphical colouring/design schemes were laid out.
These are very important to set the overall sensation and immersion in the game and the landscape/environment in which the BF game takes place.
A fellow named GameV posted a YouTube, in which he on the same PC setup plays both the BF2042 game and then side by side, you also see how the same elements/gameplay is represented in the now near 10 year older BF4 game. And the comparison and differences are truly astounding:
I totally see some areas where BF2042 appear to have more details represented, but personally I actually much more prefer the now 10 year old BF4 colour schemes and way of presenting the environment, with the landscapes, the weapons, the vehicles and the complete destructions to me with better contrasts vs the newer BF2042, which instead appears to come across as a light pastel coloured blare...
Personally I really miss the extreme level of user-triggered level of destruction we had in BF4!
The smooth weapon animation and sound in BF4 was top notch!
And so was the handling of the ground and air vehicles vs how fubling they come across today in BF2042.
Yes, BF4 was a mess at launch.
But all the core concepts and the contents (maps, weapons, servers, community features...) were there from the get go.
And BF4 got a lot of real love from the developers and ended up being a BF crown jewel within 12 mths or so after launch, from a group of competent and committed BF developers!
Both we and EA deserves and long for a resurrection of what Battlefield truly all can be and is all about!
