Strongly disagree.
If you're working as a team of 2/3, the wildcat will fairly easily overpower jets and choppers.
Hell, Irish APS pretty much makes ACs and jets useless vs the wildcat.
Two wildcats close to each other will essentially be invincible, especially if they're camping their spawn.
Wildcat players often remain static while engaging their targets and then complain when getting wrecked by ACs and jets.
A jet will only be able to destroy a full health wildcat in a single strafe if 1. All the rocket pods hit the wildcat; 2. jet approaches at specific angle that makes it extremely vulnerable to stuff like lissiles; 3. The wildcat does NOT BUDGE AN INCH while being attacked.
The 30mm cannons are still extremely effective against jets and attack choppers - you can easily get an unsuspecting jet pilot without having to reload. The 30mm cannons have a range of roughly 600 m, which is alright, and the AA missiles have UNLIMITED vertical range (you're pretty much dead if you've ran out of flares).

Ight. Small context here. So, first clip is wildcat engagement distance to AH is about 350m. Wildcat was the first one to attack. Mainly look at AH health drop rate. (Also he had aps sentinels around him)
And second one is me flying and well. Distance is about 100m.
- Lady_One2 years agoNew Ace@Man_iLoveFishing People spawning a wildcat on top of a roof and putting APS next to it is a unicorn scenario, it will happen once in 30 matches. Roof wildcats are also something people have long agreed is scummy and should not happen. It's also not an uncounterable scenario, even on that open map. If the helicopter kept moving towards it, it would stop getting shot, it could have then spun around, approached from the other side and hovered above the wildcat where it can't shoot it. If it had no gunner, the pilot could then swap seats and destroy the APS.
Instead it panicked, and started flying back but in effect remained within the wildcat's line of fire.
Your average wildcat is not on a roof. I'm not spawning a wildcat on a roof so I can sit in one spot all game. The wildcat should be able to do its job without sitting in 1 spot and without needing Irish's APS.
Your 2nd clip is a nightbird. No one here is talking about nightbirds, except maybe that guy who's trolling. He's trolling. We're talking about attack helicopters and jets. Stop bringing up nightbirds. Well, again it's just not enough. There was before this thread that bird is op against wildcat. This second one was just a bonus. And you say in 30 matches some using APS once? Even that was not question here tbh, it was bonus also. Its ur choice how you play.
Anyways, videos point was, 30mm is not weak as shown.
Edit: It did not panic. If it would fly straight in dive mode, would have been dead faster.

I made a new thread because the 30mm is currently weak against infantry, air transports, and now also attack helicopters and jets that are strafing the wildcat, as I said in the OP. The first 2 were already bad but can be generally played around, but now with these 4 it is too weak.
Vehicle balance is rock paper scissors. Wildcats can't fight tanks, they will lose. Tanks can't fight attack helicopters, they will lose. Attack helicopters can now fight wildcats and often win. The balance fails.
The wildcat being outplayable by nightbirds with spin2win strats was already concerning given these other 2 lacked any serious outplay potential, shooting a tank's cannon at a helicopter attacking you is generally not a serious option, but ok, vehicles should be able to outplay one another and the game is more fun that way. However, then, that means tanks should not be defenseless against helicopters, and wildcats not defenseless against tanks.
