There are too many AA defenses.
When i`m in a chopper i continually hear warning signals for lock ons and incoming missiles, it's absolutely non-stop.
And when there arent 25 missiles being fired at you from ground level, an overpowered jet comes along to blow you out of the sky.
This is crazy.
yeah i agree, AA rocket launchers need to be only used by one specialist, theres already other helicopters/jets/wildcats/heatseeking grenades/soflam+recoil launcher that can take care of helicopters as it is. everytime you get to a objective beep beep beep, flare hover behind something "if you can find something where your at or try to fly out of lock on distance" then you go back before you even see anyone beep beep beep rinse and repeat lol.
I saw the next patch will make the reload on the AA gadget longer, so average heli life span must be lower than they expect. But really all it takes is two people within range firing while you're between flares and it's game over so I don't think nefing individual reload times will help much.
I've had some times where I lasted half a round in a Heli but when I do it's mostly just luck in how many people are using the AA vs other gadgets. Someimes I can strafe a target again and again because I never get locked by more than 1 at a time other times I can't get anywhere close to fights without being immediately locked onto and fired at by multiple AA's
This is one major reason I loved BF1 and BFV so much. No beep beep nonsense.
The issue is that attack choppers and scouts are too hard to take out with dumb fire rockets and stationary AA was a failure in BC2 to combat good chopper crews.
Air vehicles absolutely WRECK everything on the ground so it doesn't surprise me in the least. Every single game the chat box is filled with OMG CAN SOMEONE GO AA!? and basically just nonstop **'s
