Theres too much spotting
It feels like literally everything in this game can spot you, you are always on the map and you can't do anything cause if you move you get beamed. Flanking feels like an impossible task at times an...
BF4 had the same problem because you could easily 3D spot by spamming the Spot button and also had Proxy grenades. Flanking was not a thing in that game. At least, not often.
BFV had the best balance for the spot system. 3D spotting was much more limited, Flares were easy to counter, and you were notified CLEARLY with your minimap being highlighted in yellow when you were spotted. This allowed the opportunity to escape properly. For those doing the spotting, it meant displacing the enemy or obviously revealing them.
This game needs that notification to be much more clear. It seems to tell you if youve been revealed but *, it only lasts a couple seconds on your screen and half the time gets missed by all the chaos and clutter because its right below the Points received notifications. Proxy Grenades need to be more identifiable and Spot Assists need to be differentiated from regular assists (from dealing damage or being a Driver of a vehicle) and they need to earn fewer points. I would also consider lowering amount of Proxy Grenades held to a cap of 1 vs 2. They have really good range so probably leave it at that. OR like how BFV had it, the higher above the ground something is, the wider its spot range becomes. That means Proxys will have a smaller radius vs say a drone thats up higher.
BFV did the spot system right and was the most balanced. Its a good system to stick with and fine tune. Hell, even bring back Suppression Spotting. That was a excellent format as it allowed HMGs and LMGs to have lower accuracy at longer ranges but still contribute by spotting enemies by continuously firing at them. It was a situation where you had to give up your location to briefly reveal the enemies'.
Hmm not sure. Had to of been user error mate. I had very few issues with pinging what i wanted in that game to my friends and squad mates. I will agree that every now and then, a branch or shrub would get in the way and pings that instead but still falls a bit on the user to make the adjustment. I would say from a developer standpoint, thats the only real thing that should have been adjusted so those were considered "transparent" and unpingable to prevent those situations.
