Things i learned using soflam

This isn't an exhaustive list, just a few things i noticed

1. Give your teamates time to notice what you are doing and change loadout. Dont give up after 30s if no one is shooting your target. Give it a few min at least. People WILL start helping.

2. Either soflam or dont, if you half * it it will just irritate teammates

3. Just because you designate a target doesnt mean your shooters are in range. Keep painting the target and give your shooters time (added fun is it freaks out the pilot/driver and makes them use countermeasures sometimes) to get in range (or the target to come to them)

4. If you are against a really good pilot it may take some time for your shooters to kill him, stick with it

5. Soflam is the easiest way to kill condors that keep flying off after one hit because you can have multiple shooters with a more powerful warhead.

6. Dont sit right next to shooter when designating targets, a good pilot will see the smoke trail and kill you both if he flares the first rocket

7. Make helos/condors your priority, most ground targets wont have a line of sight for many of your shooters

@Psubond I totally agree with that.

Even that I don't get a reward with an assist I switch more often to the Soflam at the moment, it is always a good thing to get rid of a Helicopter 😉

And I like also to combine it with Rao ^^
First Trigger the Flare with marking, then keep on marking and quickly switch to hacking so that the vehicle can’t use the countermeasure ^^

@Psubond I never used it yet but doesn’t it give you a lot of XP? Or you can get a lot.

@Sc0tch_Whiskeyyou don't get exp for marking vehicles and you don't get an assist when a marked vehicle gets killed.

But you get a lot of exp and assist with spotting infantry and the Soflam is a spotting machine
But this is not the reason i play the Soflam, i play it to get rid of the dominating helicopters ^^

@Psubond Just tell your squad mates you’re using soflam and they’ll equip themselves accordingly. Hold on, there’s no VOIP.

If your squad mates aren’t supporting your soflam just use in game chat and announce to your entire team that you want to squad up with people who will. Hold on you cant change squads.

Once you’ve found a good squad that work together you can enjoy a few rounds together and maybe start a good friendship. Hold on, after a match you get thrown back into random matchmaking.

Once you and your friends are a force to be reckoned with and know what maps work especially well, team up and use the server browser to select your chosen map, size of player count, max ping and server location. Hold on, this is BF2042. Soz.

I got T1 in a matter of days and take a guess how many vehicle destroy assists I got? Well, 0 because vehicle assists aren't a thing lol but the answer is 7.

Yup, 7. If you see a red square on your screen just redeploy and go to town - can pretty much guarantee your team will win

@TTZ_Dipsy They really need to address the no exp on vehicle kills for soflam and hacks. You still get spotting points for every person in the vehicle though

I don't care about xp but would really like to know how many vehicles I have assisted in destroying and/or kills.

@psubonThe thing that limits my use of SOFLAM is how there is a random chance that the screen will start flickering while looking through it... very painful to look at
