This game feels terrible to play on controller. Specifically the aiming input
Ever since the beta 2042 has felt awful to play on controller compared to BFV. It feels janky to aim and track targets, and the aim response curve is obviously not adjusted correctly. Going back and playing BFV/BF4/BF1 the controls feel great. Aiming in 2042 often feels like my reticle is going through puddles of syrup, especially when making adjustments when engaging targets that are moving or are far away.
The last update claiming to fix this didn't do anything to fix the real issue here. This is by far the biggest issue in the game and probably a significant reason why the player retention on console is so poor. The aim response curve is not right and needs to be fixed. It cant be that difficult DICE is a AAA developer for crying out loud. Do they not know its a problem? Do they all play on PC?
And just because I can end most games at the top of the leaderboard doesn't mean everything is ok. Most professional drivers could probably still win races if their steering was misaligned. They could adapt after practicing for countless hours. This is the state most longtime 2042 controller players are in. They have become comfortable with the janked controls, and thus don't see the need to change anything. DICE probably thinks that its to late to make the effort, but I think that's the wrong conclusion to come to.
2042's legacy will be that after two years, a AAA developer who has made FPS games for the past 20 years couldn't implement an industry standard aim response curve or fix mouse/controller input. That to me is frankly embarrassing and just unacceptable.
I really like this game but this issue is just to impactful to leave unaddressed. I stopped playing after the latest update and wont be playing until this is fixed. Its not worth my time and energy to play a game that has a off set aim response curve and janked control inputs. I actually want aiming to feel smooth and normal in an FPS game...
